System Open Champion - Garm Wins!
I think the lesson here is that both Garm and the Nebulon-B are much better than the masses typically give credit...
I can't sigh hard enough.

That winning list has too many points. Are the Neb-B's Support Frigates and not Escort?

yeah, it doesn't add up just from a quick look at it

I don't even know what to say to you
Besides, I think Garm is pretty good in fleets where you want to spam one command (like engineering or squadron commands). It lets you do navs and CF which is still pretty darn useful
(delayed) April fool aside, it looks a fun list (to make points, the Zs would have to go).

Naw...just change the Escort Frigates to Support Frigates and the points work out...395
Aye, but then you lose the extra blue for flak. Would rather bin the Z95s and keep the Escorts!

Honestly, if you swap Garm out for Madine, Nebulons aren't awful-awful. They just really suck against Rebels and Flotillas. If ships want to run from them and fight at long range, the Nebulons really start to suffer. Against stuff that has to come in and get close to them, the Nebulons can have a chance. Otherwise it's too hard to focus fire from all the nebulons onto the same targets, and if you can't do that you're not gonna outshoot anything. They are also terribly vulnerable to fighters, especially Rhymer, who can bully those weak sides with ease.
Didn't Gink or someone on here run a block of Nebs using interlocking flak arcs with quite some success?
@Ginkapo did. It's a really interesting fleet.

The get wrecked by arqs

Side note: Isn't it so neat how different ships with 3 red die for output can feel so waaaaay different. A Vic I, and Arq, and a Neb B are so radically different in terms of getting shots to the opponent and keeping output going.
I love the Arq's but Neb's are so fickle sometimes. And don't get me started on the Imperial Brick.
Having that many double blue dice ships works wonders against fighter swarms, but if that were the intention he would have put Toryn Farr in there somewhere.
I did experiment with a 4 neb list, for all it was fun it just did not work, to easy to threaten the flanks,forcing u to make poor choices...
