Edited by MaturinI'm guessing the new ships are the Starhawks.
I dont't love them... but Im sure they will grow on me.
Edit: in the Aftermath series Starhawks were described as having a hatchet like front ends.

STRANGE DESIGN. Let the speculation BEGIN !
Almost looked like nebulon B's without the long pole and back end.
NEW A-WINGS!

Yup that's an awings rear end if I ever saw one
Don't they seem a little small to be StarHawks? I mean this ship is supposed to go toe to toe with SD right?

You beat me to it!

You know, they really don't even look much bigger than a GR-75.... maybe new Flotillas type?
The FFG panel is later on so it will be interesting to see if they show them as a December wave ship (probably not lol)

I'm not gonna lie, they announce wave 7 before releasing the FAQ to wave 5.... I'm gonna be a little mad.

Since the Republic's main fleet has been vaporized by deathstar #3, its likely the republic is using smaller ships as line ships to make do. Doubt these are main battleships, they look more like frigates.

Me too.
Also a little aroused.

We haven't really seen any indication, ever, that the Armada team is getting the same attention towards 'early movie details' that the X-Wing team is getting.
Armada ships tend to come out about 1.5 years after "we" (the general public) first see them on-screen.
First time for everything, of course, but given we still have the Resurgent-class and MC75-class of ships to arrive from other recent movies...
I wonder how long before first order and rebell ships are going to show up in armada.
My heart is still pounding from that trailer

Frankly, I'm quite happy with that. I want to get the MC-75, the Venator etc. into our fleets before we start looking into First Order / Resistance.
X-wing are getting there quicker because their catalogue of OT era ships is already complete. Ours is not.
Plus, if you think that we've got ships and squadrons in from
Rebels
, we're not doing so badly on being up to date!

My own Mark 1 Eyeballs estimate those to be of similar dimensions, certainly similar size class to a CR90, if a radically different shape. Definitely new A-wing (barely looks changed at all, maybe a tad longer), and more of that T-70 nonsense.
Also, what's Luke going on about, it's time for the Jedi to end? Why do I get the impression this entire movie (and maybe IX too) will be Rey changing his mind, and that opening scene of Rey on her hands and knees is actually the reaction to that proclamation? And on that note, if it's time for the Jedi to end, why the dickens is he training her? And did the Bendu get bigger, because that shot was weird, and it's the only comparison I can draw.

You mentioning Bendu is the connection you should draw. In the trailer Rey saw "Light" , "Dark", and "Balance." My theory is Luke wants to end the endless war between the Jedi and Sith that cause the galaxy so much pain like the pain he felt when his Academy was destroyed along with all his students. He is training Rey to find the "Balance" where there is no more Jedi or Sith and this fighting across the galaxy can come to an end.
I think he is talking about the New Jedi Order, now with 100% more balance instead of the head-up-the-arse asceticism.

It was said earlier in the year that the meaning of last jedi was "the end of the existence of the jedi" and people went about luke going on a more "grey jedi" path and giving up on the jedi order

Okay here's the deal....
The Jedi are basically responsible for every great war the galaxy has ever seen.
The legends EU says that the Sith originated from exiled dark Jedi... so here we have every conflict between the Jedi and Sith is basically the jedi's fault. so that accounts for every bit of "star wars" up to the end of the galactic empire... where the first order gains a recruit that was trained as aJedi.... so here again... the Jedi are about to launch the galaxy into another civil war...
I kinda get it... if it wasn't for the spess wizards... the star wars galaxy would be a really nice place...

Not to start an argument, but the end of the Jedi would create what exactly? Let's remove the Jedi Order (not Jedi, the Order) from the Star Wars universe. *Taps delete key. Poof, now we have a bunch of Force-capable persons, with absolutely no training what to do with that power, and no organization in place with either the capability or the mandate to stop them should they abuse those powers. Holding a group accountable for the repercussions of its actions is far and away different from an automatic abolishment. I get the balance kick the AU has been going on, see Bendu, etc., and I'm interested to see what exactly Luke meant, because just as clearly as that statement is nonsense, it's clear that is a line clipped out of context, which is much more my interest than whatever half-baked idea he has floating around in his head after however many years of exile. However, Ren is not just going to wander into the grey middle area because Luke did, and someone will have to put him down. That's not a grey action, that's a light action, negating his own dark influence. I would further note he's essentially abandoned the New Republic (what's left of it, since apparently Starkiller Base obliterated the NR starfleet) to the ravages of the Force-aided First Order, without providing a counter-Force balance himself. That's not the non-interventionism I often see Grey Jedi characterized by, it's isolationism, and when you're the most powerful person in the galaxy, I have a hard time believing it's a viable tactic.
