My guess is that for official tournaments you will not be allowed to use alternative miniatures

I talked to "warbases.co.uk" a couple weeks ago and they are going to wait and see how popular it is.
the more feedback they get the more likely they will be to make stuff.

Look up any of resin base manufacturers who produced 25mm bases for 40k

also you can use old bases cavalry bases for WHFB and the 40mm bases as well
