Can a morale test be triggered on any attack as long as tokens/ die results are present?, I know it's in the rules in the attack timing chart. We were just unsure, after the test resolves we removed tokens, and put the card in a discard pile, this is really the only part of the game that perplexes me
More rules questions? Morale tests
If icons are rolled you must resolve the morale test. Same with symbols on dial. The tokens you can spend to add to the number of symbols rolled even if you roll 0. They are optional
Does that help?

And yes, Morale tests are only triggered by an Attack
Also FWIW Morale tests are only for the Defender in an Attack (i.e. if you have Morale tokens and attack, the defender can't spend your tokens)

To clarify Klaxas' response, if you made an attack and got no morale results and had no morale result added from your dial, but there was a panic token on the defending unit, you could choose to spend it to draw a morale card or choose not to spend it.
See "Panic" under 12.1 of the rules.
Thanks to everyone, I'm so in love the communities responsiveness everyone was a help
yeah i had to read it several times to understand it but i eventually came to the same conclusion the others did.
Furthermore, you cant simply add panic tokens per die result instead of the morale test. Something i thought of that would be pretty broken, thankfully its not a thing.
Its also worth noting that unlike other FFG games, you spend the icon not the die. I was confused at first why they had different icons on the same face until i noticed it never says "spend a die"
Just some food for thought.

I think that's actually similar to IA and Descent. You spend the individual surges and not the entire die at once.

You also don't spend dice in Armada. In fact, X-Wing is the only game I can think of where you do spend dice. Well, besides Destiny.
