The IC post says it for me, Fzaexx doesn't think it looks like they'll be able to get it out (being pinned down by that part of the larger ship), but let's have a salvage go for it and see what happens.

Way to make lemonade out of lemons!

Feel free to discuss and decide on actions. It looks like some of you are suggesting looting this ship while others are suggesting moving on. In fairness to @Hinklemar I would like to get consensus before we decide. His character has Obligation tied reasons for wanting to loot the Minstrel. It seems that he has declined sharing them with the other characters specifically but has proposed that looting take place in general.

I finally got my IC post done.

I'm not sure how powerful the tractor beam on the walker is, and not having a visual reference, what are the chances that the tractor beam would be able to move any of the wreckage? If the pieces are too big, Could I make a mechanics roll to guestimate how long it may take to cut them into manageable chunks and then move them? We do have salvage and scrapping tools. :)

Is there any roll I could make to maybe recognize this ship, and know if the hutt or the crew didn't make it back and maybe know something about the sort of folks that made up his crew? Khaine is looking for weapon and armor upgrades so any high ranking guards would be of particular interest.

Can we see the docking bay? Is it upright, laying on it's side, tilted, etc? As we fly over I'd like to use the sensors to try and get an idea of the damage to the engine compartment.

Looks like the tractor beam is Medium sized. Those are normally limited to silhouette 5 or larger ships. Suppose that means they can grab ahold of things quite large. Probably up to S4 without trouble. Then it would just be a matter of leverage and mass. You can attach the beam, how you pull it is up to you to describe.

Knowing who owns a random ship passing in the night is a daunting task. This ship is rather damaged +1eS. It was four years ago +1eS. It is not sending out any identification +upgrade. It has no specific markings on the hull +1eS. You can try to make a Knowledge Underworld roll at +3eD+1eC+3eS.

I had envisioned the ship laying on it's side with its keel against the rock wall of the valley. Looking for deck plans on google https://goo.gl/images/Suz5oe seems to suggest that the landing bay is underneath. With the amount of sand/dust piled up around the hull you can not see the landing bay.

The YT-1000's sensors are nearly non existent. For some reason they are completely unable to penetrate the sand/dust of the moon even when they are working correctly for you. You can attempt to scan the hull of the Minstrel using the YTs sensors. Hard difficulty with a double setback from the sand/dust and an upgrade from the poor quality of the sensors. +2eD+1eC+2eS

I think that we should come back to this ship if we have time, S'zish thinks that the whole thing will be a waste of time.

I'm going to put something up IC soon.

Posted IC, Brin agreed to checking out the yacht -- not to recover the ship but to go treasure hunting.

Well, I'm afraid these sensors just aren't strong enough and there's just too much interference.

Computesr - Engine Scan : 3eA+2eD+1eC+2eS 0 successes, 2 threat

Two threat... The ship sensors flare from some kind of feedback loop and automatically shut down. I looks like they overheated and need to reset. The ship takes some system strain as well. I'll keep track of that for now.

What is the ordnance of the ship we are using? I am thinking we could fire a <insert whatever> at the base of the cargo bays, into the mire and hopefully use the pressure wave to dislodge the stuff, allowing us easier access into the yacht.

It's probably just as easy to walk in through one of the giant holes in the side. :P

So let's vote, like this post if you want to go down into the ship and search it. Does that work for everyone?

I was looking at getting a smaller ship out of the yacht.

I did not think of that. Good call. I still say we check it out on the inside first. No use blasting holes in the ground if the docking bay is empty.

edit: Assuming that we even go of course.

Fair point as well.

I think it would be better to come back if we have time, but if everyone else wants to search this one, maybe S'zish will find something interesting. So I'll let democracy work its way (for now... mu ha ha ha! was that out loud?).

Just when my character was learning to trust again, you type something like that out loud? Good thing she can't read English...

Very well then. Szish should make an easy Piloting check to land the YT, Add a setback for the sensors being down and a setback for the surface of the moon being irregular. And upgrade it because I am flipping a DP

I don't know what to think...

Landing near the yacht wreck : 3eA+1eP+1eC+2eS 1 success, 1 advantage, 1 Despair

Son is down for a nap, hence all my posts, sorry if I'm spamming.

Updated character sheet to reflect Ch 1 xp and added my share of the prep supplies. Added 1 canteen, 1 entrenching tool, 1 fusion lantern, 1 surveyor's bag (ninja satchel).

Didn't take any ration packs as Tox has more than most. Also didn't take the Emergency Repair Patch, Military Medpac, Medical Backpack, Mechanical Dianoga, or the Repulsor clamp as Tox isn't in the top 50% for any of those skills.

I kind of feel guilty when I post a lot too -- I prefer frequent posting, but I know not everyone can, so I'm trying not to overdo it!

I guess I should take some of those items as well, at least some rations and a fusion lantern. That's probably sufficient for my character. I keep forgetting to figure out how many of my own credits were spent on our shopping trip, hahaha.

Oh happy day, my first Despair. What to do, what to do.

Look for an IC post soon...

As arbiter I will try and make sure that the story doesn't move faster than any of you can keep up. But please tell me if you are feeling left behind. I cant tell if you're not posting because you don't have anything to say or because you are unable to. We seem to have a pretty active group but that doesn't mean we want to exclude people who cant keep up.

We did only have two vote yes so far. So I don't know if we should have been setting down just yet.

I purchased the brace talent with my XP and added it to the character sheet.

I'll grab the Mechanical Dianoga, 2 repair patches, and 2 rations.

I haven't really been able to post for the last few days so I'm playing catchup (and getting my gaming fix while I can. haha)

While it is true that the post you made asking for like-votes has only two/three likes, I have seen 4 players indicating a desire to land and search the Minstrel. That's why I asked for the roll. Considering that the only player to sugggest against doing so is the one who rolled I think it is safe to move forward. Don't worry, one little Despair is hardly going to cause a TPK.
