Can we get an official ruling on which suits they are? I'm more inclined to believe they're the smaller environment suit, but they were originally listed at EVA's.

They are the latter. Simple basic space suits. All they really do is keep you breathing.

I'm not too worried about other gear. Most of what I'm after is armor, weapons, ships, parts, crafting tools, and stuff for our business. Not much of that will be useful for our current venture. I think we have everything we need for the task at hand.

As long as we have enough spacesuits for everyone, mechanics tools (and something to cut spaceship parts is in these), and slicing stuff I think we meet the minimum requirements.

Before leaving, I would like to have Fzaexx or someone try to get an idea of how long we'll have before the pickets would return. Additionally, should we bring common spare parts to help get something running; or do we want to maximize cargo space and do without?

Lastly, I'm located in the northeast US and will usually be posting on lunch breaks, after work (17:00+), or occasionally in the morning.

I checked the books and the EVA suits are Enviro-suits from page 44 of EtU.

2 Soak and 2 Encumberance

They impose a setback to Agility based and Perception skill checks.

You borrowed one for each party member.

Soon as I get a consensus on shopping list or on departure I will move forward. Up to you guys.

I think @Weedles and Fries is the only one who hasn't posted since we started discussing shopping. I'm personally just waiting for him to confirm whether or not he is looking for anything before we commit to a shopping list. Don't wanna overlook anyone!

Unless someone has something that they really need or want, my vote would be to go. Personally I think we're on a time crunch and the Imps could return sooner rather than later. My estimate is that we leave now and we have a few difficulties getting stuff but we'll have more time to do it. If we get the tools it will eliminate some of the problems but we'll have less time to get stuff. I don't think the setbacks from not having the right equipment outweigh the time lost shopping and we'll ultimately come out ahead by going and beating the competition that are gathering the right supplies. However, if someone really things we need something, I won't argue.

I can wait on my satchel.

XD I think the amount of time we'll use going shopping for supplies is minor and justified. I just want to wait on every player's input ^_^;;;

Maybe I can't...?

LoL, you just seemed so excited to get it.

I think that the better prepared we are, the better the results will be. I don't think with our list we'll lose too much time, nothing is restricted if I remember correctly and we have enough credits for it all.

I ran everything through OGGs character creator. We would have enough money for everything, assuming we don't roll horribly.

I think I even picked multiples of each. Like three droid repair kits and six fusion lights. Still had enough money

Sorry for the holdup, work and college.

As far as the shopping list goes, rations and some canteens filled with water are going to be a must, expecially if we're up there for a prolonged period of time. That's what I can think of for now at least, perhaps a couple entrenching tools from Forged in Battle (I already have 1) to deal with digging through small pieces of wreckage with a bit more finesse?

As for personal life I would prefer not to type my name, sorry. I'm from Ohio, born and raised, work odd hours and am studying online to become a high school teacher. When I'm not typing here, working, or studying I'm usually either reading or writing short stories (abysmally I must add). :P

So, here are all the things mentioned w/ quantities. All would still leave us 3 credits. If anyone has something listed that I am counting, even better.

Sorry, I forgot to mention I already have a canteen, though an extra one cannot hurt.

Love it, let's do it. I'm glad @Mattimeo84 that you itemized it, I was about to suggest the same for the sake of our GM, hahaha. If we could list the base rarities on there too, that would be perfect so he could set the difficulty. (Tough for me to do at work)

Then it's all in our trusty entrepreneur's hands.

Item:Count:Cost (Per 1):Rarity
Slicer Gear:1:500:4
Canteen:6:7:1
Entrenching Tool:5:20:1
Emergency Repair Patch:4:25:2
Fusion Lantern:6:150:2
Surveyor's Bag:1:50:1
Military Medpac:1:400:3
ECM-598 Medical Backpack:1:450:4
Mechanical Dianoga:1:225:4
Field Rations:11:10:2

This is subject to being able to use benefits from both medpacs at the same time. If not, we would pick 1.

So with -2 rarity per item (to a minimum of 0 I assume), we're looking at a total of 7 rarity (if I understand that correctly).

If @Hinklemar wants to split it up, I can take some of the pressure off of that check, but I mean... Fzaexx's Negotiation is so high, he probably doesn't need the help XD

There are 3 items with a (modified) rarity of 2. Everything else is down to 0 or 1.

A rarity 2 item is one die difficulty. With three of them that means three dice difficulty.

So to go shopping for all the items together. It will be +3eD

Is it too late to throw a Repulsor Clamp (250c, r1) (special modifications pg 52) onto the list?

If so, no biggie. Just a thought.

Edited by Ahrimon

We can, no problem! Thoughts include:

  • Adding it to the list as is, putting us over the credit limit, hoping negotiations work in our favor.
  • Add it to the list and remove one of the medpacs. Military counts as having 1 rank in Medicine if user has none (no one in party has medicine). ECM grants boost to all Med skill checks and decreases difficulty to heal critical injuries by 1.

As long as we net 2 successes, that will save us 10%. Thats 280+ credits, more than we need for a repulsor clamp. I vote we try to buy everything, and if we can't we cut a medpac. My vote to cut is military.

Confident that the negotiations will go well, Brin offers the credits from his own supply to cover the difference just in case.

Ok I made a mistake. When I first mentioned the suits I was thinking that they were relatively cheap. Given the reason they were free to borrow. Them when I went looking the cheapest ones I found were the ones I mentioned above. Ahrimon was kind enough to point out that the Space suit I was originally thinking about is not listed as armor. Hence why I did not find it at first.

If it comes up the actual suits are on page 179 of the Edge core book. Looks like they are worn instead of armor. Encumberance of 4, and since it's not armor that doesn't drop when you wear them. Though I suppose you can wear them over some armor.
