Shadows in the Light (OOC)

By Ryoden, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

In the Adversaries section it does clearly state that it is at the GM's discretion weather an adversary is incapacitated or killed when its WT is exceeded.

Considering how easy and ubiquitous it is to apply stun damage with this system I am going to say that the only way for a player to ensure that they don't accidentally kill the target is by doing stun/strain damage.

If you want to incapacitate an NPC (especially a Rival or Minion) you'll need to specifically do Strain to them to cap off their WT.

Sounds good. I still say capture. We're going to need information to either keep them off of us or get cash. Fixing our new ship isn't going to be cheap and if we have slavers after us it would complicate things.

That said, I need to remember to see if there are any missing persons bounties on any of the prisoners once we get back. We might pick up a few extra credits that way.

Ok folks it's now players turns right through to next round. Somebody got something or should I have Neelig go?

Per my sheet I'm under the impression Fzaexx has the ECM-598 on him (didn't know we had a different one) since I was designated the group "medic" in a bunch of pages back. His 4 carried encumbrance is 2 medkit, 1 holdout blaster, and 1 mercantiler datapad; i specified leaving the encryption module.

If there aren't any other systems Fzaexx can access from the terminal (looking at particularly beyond the cargo container turbolift) then I think it's time for him to move out. I can't recall how long it'll take himto get to the airlock, but rejoining the group is what he'll do.

Ok the first post by @Ahrimon should be updated then. That's what I was going by.

With two maneuvers you can be cycling through the airlock.

Fixed for the ECM-598. I must have missed @Hinklemar 's post about what he was carrying. Sorry.

I might not have mentioned it in an effort to cut down on clutter (which obv came back to bite).

Fzaexx will get on the move since the others will prolly be able to wrap up inside quick. That and he does his best talking in person....

I'm torn, on one hand I want to get Khaine healed up, but on the other, I want to make the receptionist feel a world of hurt.

I'm thinking double manuever move to him. Then for my action, can I flip the desk? Athletics or Brawl check perhaps? Boost cause I have adrenaline and I'm angry she hurt my team?

Sounds like a plan. Average check but it is lightly weighed down by some electronics. I don't think that is an appropriate source of a boost die.

That's fair, athletics or brawl? I can see both. Athletics cause it's physical or brawl as we are in combat?

Athletics, you're not attacking the desk you're flipping it.

Well, that's a wash.

Forgot the boost from S'zish

Crap

Use the advantages to either regain the two strain I lost for the double maneuver OR say that while I didn't flip the desk, I shifted it to negate some of her cover?

Sounds about right. You go to flip the table only to realize that cabling and wires are connecting it to the floor so rather than dramatically flying away from the receptionist it's simply bounces and slides to the side. Her effort at gaining additional cover by completely being under the desk is negated so the cover goes down to 1 rather than 3.

How many maneuvers would it take to try to sneak around the desk unnoticed from where Brin is? I figure with all the stuff going on, I can probably try to get around her cover, but it may take too long...

You are still on the top level.

You could use one maneuver to go down the ladder and another to move somewhere on the cargo deck. It wouldn't be sneaking it would be dashing to a spot with a better angle. That would result in a short range shot with no cover.

Alternatively you could just use a single maneuver to move to above her and shoot down. It would be a short range shot with only one point of cover.

If you simply stay where you are you would have a medium range shot with one point of cover.

I'll do the former option then. Climbing down the ladder and hastily looking for a better vantage point to fire from (second maneuver). Once I'm in place, I'll set my blaster to stun and fire at her.

Just looking to confirm difficulty of the check.

Easy but I'll flip a point.

Sounds good, I'll flip a point too so we can attempt to end this!!

Firing at the receptionist from behind the desk : 1eP+2eA+1eC 1 success, 1 advantage

****, I was hoping to do a little more than that XD

7 damage before soak, and can I use that 1 advantage to give her a setback if she tries to return fire at Brin?

OK she whimpers in pain and huddles closer to the floor when the disruptive energy soaks into her, but she is still shakily holding the holdout blaster.

It requires 2 advantage to impose a setback on someone.

So with @Weedles and Fries being MIA I am inclined to have Neelig stay in the background. How do you all feel about it?

That's fair, the last thing we want to do is hurt his character/do something out of character. We would all expect him to help his herd.

Agreed

I'll just provide the next ally with a boost then

@Ahrimon How's the IC post coming?
