Shadows in the Light (OOC)

By Ryoden, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Your call, my choices are listed. I personally like one small item per hand.

After Tox grabs what she wants Khaine will drag the body around the corner through the far door if possible. I'll convert my action to a maneuver if need be.

So I drag it half way and loot, you finish?

Based on what's happening (and it'll be tough not to metagame after the IC posts), I'd like to get the mechanic into this room. I suggest then that we disarm her and either convince her to help us or if she seems like she won't, knock her out and examine her person for anything of use (datapad, schematics, tools, access cards, who knows). If Khaine is taking a turn right now, could Brin ask him to concoct a mechanically convincing reason why we could redirect the mechanic toward us instead?

Also @Ryoden thanks for the clarification on our location, it was kind of tripping me up, haha.

Just to be clear, Brin is asking Khaine to provide him with a good reason so that Brin can get on the comlink and deceive the mechanic.

That gets a little convoluted. Khaine would have to use a Maneuver to get to where Tox took the body to then use one to take it farther.

Besides there is only one player slot right now. I am taking GM fiat and deciding that since Matimeo declared what tox was doing it is being used by her.

Tox uses her free maneuver to drag the body around to the corner between the turbolift and the turret room. She then takes the comlink and the electrowhip from the body.

An NPC will go next. Give me a bit to pull that together.

BTW it is a:

Neuronic Whip - Melee skill - Range short - Damage 5 - Critical 4 - Qualities: Disorient 4, Ensnare 1, Stun Damage

They are from Lords of Nal Hutta page 104

As it's unlikely that the NPC will enter the room and do anything, as they seem to be more than two movements away at this point (I could be wrong), I'm not going to do a IC write up. I'll let somebody who's taking the next IC post describing the room cover it. "So-and-so watched Tox move the body and grab the whip and comlink." Otherwise I really don't have much to say.

Anything special about the comink? Is it just a regular Comlink (handheld)?

Yes it is a standard handheld comlink

In floor of the hold the guards (acting together) quickly bring all of the slaves that were on the floor with patrons, back to the cargo containers/holding cells and lock them inside.

There are now 2 Player slots available. Seemed like Khaine and Brin had ideas for actions?

How are we handling encumbrance? Per RAW, with a setback die if 1 point over?

Since Khaine doesn't need to drag the body anywhere now (unless he still wants to drag the body further away), I'd like Brin to retrieve the comlink from so that he can convince the mechanic to enter this room first so that she can be escorted by an armed guard.

Tox currently has it and hands it over.

Yes that is correct.

It will take a maneuver to get the comlink from Tox. You can then say things into it if you want. You should say it first and then I'll give it a difficulty and a skill. Though I'll guess it will be Deception.

How would we describe this room? If we ask her to come to the turbolift on the upper level, is that an appropriate description of our location?

Isn't it in the IC? the dude radioed her to come here.

This is correct.

OH.. I completely misunderstood where she was directed to go

Well... if there's no need to lure her in here, I guess at this point I would simply suggest we stand by to stun her or coerce her...? We probably want to get her help if she's willing to help, but first, we need to make sure she doesn't alert anyone to our presence. This is kind of tough in structured play when we're not responding to a particular threat because you want to make the most of your 'turn'.

In any event, Brin will still take the comlink from Tox. I just want to point out too that I'm surprised a single threat was enough to tip everybody off to our presence :\ that feels like a very significant effect for a one threat.

Would we have heard the orders given to the guards over the comlink?

Yes it came over the comlink shortly after you gunned him down, as you were watching the Mechanic make her way toward you along the catwalk.

After she slumped against the wall (literally right next to the door that Khaine closed when he started the encounter) she dropped her crutches. You could probably guess that she isn't planning to go anywhere.

I poster for her character, in first person perspective, because I wanted the players to know more about her. You should use that knowledge to have your characters take action. I'm sure you could come up with a reason for your character to act even though you have "meta game" knowledge.

So far your turn is just a single Maneuver (getting the comlink from Tox) Are you going to do anything with your action? Or perform a second maneuver?

Also, unless I'm misunderstanding, you guys know what the mechanic is doing (dropping down, grabbing rifle) because Fzaexx is relaying what he's seeing in the cameras. Since she left the room where there wasn't a camera I assume I have sight of her (b/c Ryoden didn't say otherwise).

This is all true.

Additionally they can see her by peering through the small window on the door. (if they sorta smush their face against it and look down)

Doing his best to imitate the Zygerrian's voice, Brin yells out to the mechanic "Quit fooling around and get in here already!". Aware of the rifle in her hands, Brin motions to the rest of the team to get in position and to be ready to disarm her. He's hoping that yelling through the door will conceal any differences in their voices enough to convince the mechanic to enter their room.
