Shadows in the Light (OOC)

By Ryoden, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Oh but he's engaged with Neelig and Tox now right? Yeah, I'll wait for @Ryoden 's ruling.

Correct, at this point he is engaged with Tox and Neelig. So base difficulty of 1 for short range, upgraded twice. Once for shooting into melee and once for a rank in Adversary.

+1eC+1eD

With his target being overwhelmed by Neelig and Tox, Brin takes a deep breath, lines up his shot (aim maneuver) and cooly fires at the guard with his Model 80 still in the stun setting.

Blasters set to stun (still) : 3eA+4eB+1eD+1eC 6 successes, 1 advantage

12 strain damage before soak! And with 1 advantage, I'll give a boost to the next check.

He reels from the energy of the blow and staggers against the wall, but stays standing. He seems to be trying to pull a grenade from his belt.

I'm always so scared of shooting into melee. I'll ready my rifle (maneuver) , spend a maneuver to aim (2 strain) and fire at the badguy. GGGY (R-Heavy) +B (from Brin) vs RP (difficulty 1, upgraded twice).

Blasting the guard : 3eA+1eP+1eB+1eC+1eD 3 successes, 1 advantage
a-a.png a-s-s.png a-s.png p-s-s.png b--.png c-f.png d-f.png

13 14 Damage ( with Pierce 2) and if he's still standing he's staggered by the blast and suffers a setback. If he's dead, I'll spend the advantage on less of a chance for someone to hear us.

Edit: LOL, I forgot my aim boost. forgotten boost : 1eB 1 success

After all the effort your companions went through to quietly disable the guard, you leave him with a smoking hole in his chest. He slumps to the ground very dead.

Lol well dang. I'd like to hurry over and pick up his comlink. Time to stretch my deceptive muscles. What shall we tell the mechanic? ;)

The door was closed, shouldn't have been too loud over the ruckus in the cargo hold.

As soon as Be on is done giving him the once over I'll drag him off to a side room and we can do the same for the mechanic. Khaine's sorry about the blaster. He slings it, draws his pistol, switches it to stun and explains that the guy was going for a grenade. Oh, and someone should probably go grab that rifle.

I just felt like adding a setback due to being in a remote location and reacting via remote observation.

Fzaexx scans the screens looking for the mechanic who's supposed to be coming.

So, because of things happening you're not necessarily aware of we're going to stay in structured game play for now.

That means Fzaexx and S'zish still get to act.

Fzaexx, if he is using his action to search through the screens for sign of the mechanic the Difficulty is average. 2 dice.

Can I loot the grenade?

That would require a Maneuver during your next turn.

I will see where the story takes us before I commit then, is that ok?

S'zish can go last, since right now there doesn't seem to be much for him to do.

Since my computers and perception are the same I'll throw 3 dice.

3 success, 1 threat

Fzaexx would obviously let the rest of the group know what he's spotted.

You cycle through the cameras and see one of the 5 guards below has left his route and is walking into the back of the ship, where the reactor room is. You flip to the screen that would show the inside of the reactor room but again all you get is static. You turn up the volume and get an audio feed from inside the room. You hear

Male voice "Hey, mechanic. Quit your daydreaming and get to the top level.

Female voice "did you see that camera mount just now?"

Male voice "get your lazy *** moving"

You then hear the sound of some sort of crackling energy activate.

Can S'zish try to hide in the reactor room, and remain hidden until whoever is coming up passes, then asses the situation?

Sure, that sounds like a Maneuver to move to a spot where you can hide and a Stealth check.

Difficulty is average upgraded once with a setback cause the mechanic is wary.

Nothing much going on with this roll.

Hiding in the reactor room : 2eP+2eA+1eB+1eC+1eD+1eS 2 successes

Are we going to wait until everyone posts IC before starting the next round?

My undestanding is that we're still in structured play and there's a mechanic on the way. Is that correct? Is it back to the top with us again?

S'zish quickly slips into the reactor room and presses himself behind a girder supporting the ceiling or perhaps part of the hull. Central to the room is a large 3 story reactor, it's energy output seems minimal but even so it is heating the air to an uncomfortably high degree. A open cargo lift rises from the ground floor and a human woman exits into the top level. She appears to be missing one let at the hip and is walking with a pair of archaic crutches. She has a small bag of tools hanging from her shoulders and in one hand she is juggling a heavy wrench. She seems wary, and stops to poke at the camera mount (where Szish now sees that the camera has been removed) before heading on towards the catwalk and the front of the ship.

Yes let's pause long enough to get the IC posts up to current.

Then we can proceed to round two after I post for some NPCs. (the above is essentially the mechanics turn, two move maneuvers)

Is S'zish able to relay the description of the Mechanic to the rest of the team? Is that public knowledge?

Yes he can.

(typically if I describe something that isn't supposed to be known to the whole group I'll indicate that)

Time to tell some lies I think ;) How shall we attempt to direct the mechanic? I think the guard's comlink should be quite useful in this scenario if we can pull off a convincing enough ruse!
