Shadows in the Light (OOC)

Gotcha. That's what I was thinking. Pending what the team decides, I want to know what's coming.

Do any of the doors near us have bypasses to have them cycle open/close once that might cause the guard to come to investigate a possible sound? If this requires a roll, could we do either a perception/Khaine mechanical roll or combo to make it determine?

The guard walks past a door to the room you are all waiting in every few minutes. making it open or close would simply be a matter of pressing a button. They don't make much noise though.

"Make it determine" what?

I think Siri hates me. I probably meant 'make that determination' or make it happen'.

So if we hit the button, it would have to be almost right when he walks past...hmmmm. Any ideas team?

Wait until he walks by and then gets a few meters away, hit the button, and then sneak up behind him and kabob him.

My thought was similar. Wait till he walks past, then cycle the door closed. Hopefully he comes to investigate. Pop the door open, grab him, shut the door, then shank him. Gives us more of the element of surprise and a door that might help dampen possible screams.

The door was closed when you got there.

S'zish must have already cycled it open and closed then, makes sense.

New plan, I call this one the 'hopefully we have a stupid guard like in austin powers':

  1. We open door when guard is furthest away from it so as to cancel out what little noise it might make.
  2. Brin hides a little further back in the shadows.
  3. When the guard walks by, Brin makes some noise (Deception).
  4. Guard hopefully investigates.
  5. Khaine shuts door.
  6. Neelig and Tox break him.
  7. ...
  8. Profit!

Team thoughts?

If he's not stupid we may be in trouble. But beyond that...

Does that make Tox Dana Barrett?

Lol I'm willing to give it a shot.

An additional thought, if we are able to take out enough guards without rousing too much suspicion, I can attempt to bring us closer to whoever's in charge here by pretending to be a buyer/seller, kind of what we were talking about earlier briefly (with Tox and Neelig in binders). I imagine Fzaexx would be great at this too. But for now, let's take out those guards!

Well that's three of you. One more yes for Mattimeo's plan and we can move forward with it.

Fxaexx leaves the details of striking to his fighting people. If they come up with a plan then he backs it.

Would this console also be able to output audio? If so it might come in handy for creating distractions.

Never even thought of that. We can use that (if available) multiple times throughout the encounter.

It looks like you should be able to send a message someplace in the ship using the panel. Sort of like using an intercom. But it is set up to be done from a microphone mounted to the panel. You would have to do some manipulation of the panel and your own equipment in order to make it work in the atmosphere of the moon.

Probably just be an easy Computers check.

If I can limit the boadcast to specific rooms then I'm thinking that even just tapping on the mic might be enough to get guards to wonder what was up. That being said, connecting my comm to the ship's comm could be nice....

2 success, 2 advantage

We're in business! Can the advantage lock in that I can transmit to individual rooms? If that's already the case I'll defer to you.

If the majority wants to start the shooting now, I don't mind. But I think that the longer S'zish stays hidden the bigger the impact will be, assuming that you think that the 4 of you can handle 6 of them.

What I think this is, in terms of difficulty is that this is the 'recreation' area for a large-ish Zygerrian slave mine nearby, so there could be a huge number of Zygerrians in our way.

My guess is the chances of us pulling that off are very slim.

Sounds like a fine use of the advantage. More that you figured it out than suddenly added the ability.

Do you enact the plan?

There appear to be 5 guards on the floor who are armored in some variety of laminate and armed with whips of some sort.

There is a guard on the catwalks who has a blaster rifle, whip and some grenades. (S'zish would have been able to see this easily)

I wasn't thinking we take on all 6 yet, just the one on the cat walk and work our way to securing the floor. We leave the five on the floor for now.

I think we have 5 of 6 responses.

If so, lets enact part one of HWHaSGLiAP

With Fxaexx making the destracting noise instead of or in addition to Brin.

Let's do this thing! Starting with the guy on the catwalk. He's the biggest threat with the rifle.

I assume there are no rolls needed until we hit step three. Team, what do you think, would a dual sound work better at guaranteeing an investigation or work against us by raising his guard?

Leave the door open and as the the guard walks by F'zaex can key the mike a few times transmitting static. That should pique his curiosity enough to get him in or close enough to the door.

I'm okay with adding to the sound, I'm curious to see what will happen hahaha. If for some reason he notices me, my reflexes and cool are good enough to respond to him.

Ok then Brin or Fzaexx, post IC the sound you are making to lure the guard.
