Shadows in the Light (OOC)

Well, statistically I was bound to fail but you know what they say; go big or go home. I'll flip a point.

Blue stuff : 2eA+1eP+2eC+2eD+1eS 1 failure, 2 threat

No, no, he already said he was doing it. I don't like when my players back out after learning the difficulty.

That's fair

You cant get any solid info from this stuff (Failure). The med kit is left disorganized and the scanners are out of tune now. Add a setback to their next use (2 Threat)

We're at :D :D :D :D     now right? You flipped one and I flipped one so no net change.

Yes but S'zish has yet to land the ship so I hadn't posted it yet.

Even though I missed the vote, I'm just gonna throw out what it woulda been for Neelig. After what happened with the worms he just wants to find the targeting computer and find his herdship. He would have voted no.

All good this time.

Now. We are landing : 3eA+1eP+1eC 1 success, 2 advantage

You land it smoothly and remembered to toggle the switch that prevents that release of gas so you don't create a cloud this time.

You set the YT down on top of the metal hull of the C-ROC so there is no sinking into the dust this time. The ramp and airlock are placed so you can exit and enter without disturbing the dust.

What is it you all do now that you're landed?

Now that we're aware of how hostile the local wildlife can be, Brin is going to disembark warily wearing one of the EVA suits, fusion lantern in one hand, blaster in the other. He's surveying the landscape while standing close to the ship.

No darkness this time. All the dust is currently settled down.

Relieved, Brin returns the fusion lantern to his bag. His blaster is still in hand. He waits for the rest of the team to disembark before venturing further.

Brin also commends S'zish on the top-notch landing!

Tox disembarks as well. She is in her EVA suit as well. She to is cautious, but steps with purpose. She is still mourning the loss of her fusion lantern.

Since it isn't dark out and we are near the hole in the ship, can we a) inspect the damage, b) see inside?

Getting out and looking down into the whole in you see what remains of the cockpit/bridge of a C-Roc Gozanti freighter. Dust covers everything and without going inside to investigate you wont be able to make out much else.

Is there enough light inside that, hypothetically, a lanternless Nikto could see more than a few feet if she lowered herself down and stood in the bridge?

Yes it is simply a matter of vantage not light per se. It is dimmer inside without light from the sun (far away though that is) but not pitch black.

Getting in is a bit tight. The hole is not very large and it does have shards of twisted metal. Coordination check to get inside without damaging your suit.

PENDING another wants to go down the hole, Tox wants to investigate. Climbing into the hole with out ripping her suit would be 2eP+1eA-1eS (Remove 1 setback due to Hard Body 1).

I would like to know difficulty if and when someone else wants to investigate as well.

Ha ha, Sorry if I scared you before. I am fine with telling someone a difficulty before they attempt a task if it seems reasonable for the situation. In this case you can see that the difficulty would be about an average to get in.

Fair enough, I'm just giving you a hard time as well.

My table talk is jovial but I also know there are hard fast rules and once a difficulty is given, the game moves accordingly. Think akin to yelling at a movie character don't go in the door, there is a brain sucking alien waiting.

Could we use athletics instead? Either/or?

No I don't think so. It's more a matter of body control and twisting about not simply forcing your way through. You could of course do something other than try and slip inside.

We could maybe use our ship's engines to blow the dust away, but that would leave a pretty obvious signal to anyone that we are down here messing around. Another option would be to land and use the walkers tractor beam to move the dust or lift the ship up. If it can lift a sil 4 ship in normal gravity we should be able to lift a sil 5 ship in 1/4 gravity by lifting the fore and aft separately.

Is this still an option?

You would have to move everything around, re-park the YT, ect. It will almost certainly cause a dust cloud regardless. I should also point out that the walker can attach to something S4 but leveraging it around is a matter of the motors and hydraulics of the walker.

What about the others what are you wanting to do here?

I say break out the walker and tractor some of the dirt away to uncover an airlock. Ill probably crawl inthe opening.

Re-examining my picture of the hole and damage it is actually easier to get in than I first stated. Easy check. and you get an upgrade from the low gravity. It is a rather large hole but it is rimmed by the jagged and sharp pieces of the cockpit tranparasteel viewports. It seems the vessel took a direct hit to the bridge/cockpit.
