Shadows in the Light (OOC)

By Ryoden, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

Well, I missed again but Khaine will stop take a deep breath and focus after his moment of panic to recover 1 strain.

Bugs! : 3eA+1eP+2eB+2eD+1eC+1eS 2 failures, 1 advantage
a--.png a-a.png a-s.png p--.png b-a-a.png b-a.png d-f.png d-f-f.png c-th-th.png s-th.png

All right. Sounds fine.

The worm still engaged with you all attacks,

Khaine1, Neelig2, Brin3, S'zish4 : 1d4 4

The worm flails about and settles on lurching towards S'zish. It uses a Maneuver to engage them lashes out at him.

Dimlurker attacking S'zish (with crit) : 3eP+1eA+3eD 3 successes
p-a.png p-s-s.png p-s-s.png a-s-a.png d-th.png d-th.png d-f-f.png

That's 7 damage to S'zish

There are now two player slots. Who's up?

I'm still at short range, if @Weedles and Fries wants to go first, go for it.

Otherwise, use a maneuver to move to engaged, take two strain to aim to gain a boost.

Vamblades are 2eA+2eP+1eB. +1eB for aim. +2eD for melee. +1eD for dual weapons.

Does this look right regardless of when I go?

What is current Destiny Pool at as well?

Right, but you will need to do a move maneuver to close to engaged first. Performing the Aim would be a second maneuver and would cause 2 strain.

Man, I was planning on raising Mechanics, but I might just raise my ranged skill. Some bounty hunter I've turned out to be. lol.

Since Neelig isn't online, I can go next.

Worm-Kabob : 2eA+2eP+2eB+3eD 2 successes, 2 threat
a-a.png a-s.png p--.png p-s.png b--.png b-a.png d-th.png d-th.png d-th-th.png

8 damage before soak. I take two strain.

Hope that ends it...

I'll do a write up when I get home (10 minutes or so).

Look at how many dice I rolled and how poorly it turned out. I there with you for an upgrade.

That does end it. The worm dies.

I'll use the two threat to boost the next NPC roll.

There is another player slot before the other worm goes. Who's next?

Well since we don't know where it is, and it might be hard to track with survival among all the dust, I could offer khaine some inspiring words "you'll get 'em next time for sure!" Or something to that effect, hahah. Just to help with strain before the other lurker comes back.

Ended with a flourish for dramatic effect. Good work team!

I like it.

Woaahh S'zish's strain is actually pretty bad XD sorry @Ahrimon , Khaine might get overlooked again ;_;

It's all good. I really didn't take much strain thanks to S'zish, so in a round about way I'm returning the favor. :D

So Brin does an Inspiring Rhetoric action targeting S'zish, with one setback for fear, and one boost from his last advantage. I'm also using destiny to upgrade the check.

Inspiring Rhetoric -> S'zish : 1eA+2eP+1eB+2eD+1eS 3 successes, 1 advantage
a-s-s.png p-s-a.png p-a.png b-a-a.png d-th.png d-th.png s-th.png

Nice! @Imperial Stormtrooper S'zish recovers 4 strain!

I'll try to post IC within the hour.

I don't think that is how Inspiring Rhetoric works.

Should be 3 allies recover 1 strain and one of them recovers a second.

The wording is... awkward...

Quote

For each (success), one ally within close range recovers one strain. For each(advantage), on ally benefiting from Inspiring Rhetoric recovers one additional strain

I can see the argument for choosing the same ally multiple times, I don't mind either ruling just so long as we're consistent.

I think it's supposed to be one ally per success and extra recovered strain with advantage.

lol I defer to the GM. We can look into it later for future sessions. So S'zish recovers 2 strain and Tox and Khaine recover 1 strain each? Does that work?

i agree with @Imperial Stormtrooper , the wording is a little awkward, I didn't even realize there was more than one way to read into it!! Whoops!

Just now, Ryoden said:

I don't think each one has to be a separate ally, but I'm okay with playing through with this ruling.

Ok, the first Dimlurker charges back into the light. It attacks:

Khaine1, Neelig2, Brin3, S'zish4, Tox5 : 1d5 4

S'zish, maybe they like the smell of Gand for some reason.

Dimlurker1 attacking S'zish : 3eP+1eA+2eD+1eB 0 successes, 4 advantage
p-a-a.png p-s-a.png p-a-a.png a--.png d-f-th.png d-f.png b-s.png

The creature seems to be confused that it missed, it stands there for a moment then hunkers down and takes the Guarded Stance. The other two advantage it uses to add a setback to the next PC roll.

I think it's supposed to be Neelig next. @Weedles and Fries , are you able to post?

Perfect timing, just got off.

How far is Neelig from the last worm?

Also, great job on taking that first sucker out everyone!

I can start rolling once I get home and shower off.
