Confident that the negotiations will go well, Brin offers the credits from his own supply to cover the difference just in case.

Sounds like consensus. Someone make a Hard Negotiations roll. And we can do the numbers.

( +3eD )

If you wanted to drop one of the rarity 4 items first it would lower the check to +2eD

Item:Count:Cost (Per 1):Rarity
Slicer Gear:1:500:4
Canteen:6:7:1
Entrenching Tool:5:20:1
Emergency Repair Patch:4:25:2
Fusion Lantern:6:150:2
Surveyor's Bag:1:50:1
Military Medpac:1:400:3
ECM-598 Medical Backpack:1:450:4
Mechanical Dianoga:1:225:4
Field Rations:11:10:2

This is subject to being able to use benefits from both medpacs at the same time. If not, we would pick 1.

Let's add Repulsor Clamp:1:250:1

Unless anyone has any issues, I say we move forward. Brin and Fzaexx go purchase. The rest of us will load up the ship with all the tools around the yard, confirm droids and walker are safely stowed and prep ship for takeoff.

I'm ready to roll for anything @Hinklemar wants me to grab, in case he wants to mitigate the difficulty or maximize our results. I haven't exactly calculated the odds or anything, so I don't know what's better, hahaha. Otherwise, Brin will leave things in Fzaexx's capable hands (in which case, he'll probably pretend he's helping load up the ship, hehehe).

edit: I just realized there's no reason not to split that up XD it's just approaching the situation with more dice (unless I'm mistaken about how you want to calculate the difficulty)

@Ryoden could I split off to find one of the rarity 4 items on my own and leave the rest to fzaexx -- giving him an average negotiation check and me an easy one?

The only reason I suggested you follow was to cover cost of extra should we fail, per your suggestion. You could easily just give him the credits before he goes to help load the ship. Just making flavor text.

However, splitting the odds makes things more in our favor. Plus you can take a strain to negate an easy negotiation to a simple. That gives him an average and you a simple. Or you take two and puts you both at easy. Things to consider.

Ok, cause I like running the odds...

I think this maximizes our chance for credit saving success.

Lol very nice XD except for one thing -- downgrading checks (for example, with congenial) isnt the same as reducing difficulty. I can't remove difficulty dice with a downgrade, I can only downgrade challenge dice! In any event, as long as @Ryoden is okay with our approach, I'm ready to do an easy negotiation check! (This will be for the 'simple' check identified above, although actually an 'easy' check)

Hmmm, I need to learn more about that talent then. Whats the difference?

I though it meant go PP to P. Does it mean PR to PP? Or PP to PB? (Color, not die name)

Go for it.

Upgrades and downgrades work a little differently. Downgrades can't reduce the difficulty level, they can only downgrade red challenge dice to purple difficulty dice. Only reducing the difficulty of a check would have that effect. There's a thread dedicated to it somewhere on this forum. I double checked myself when I took the congenial talent - just in case. When I get home I can check for page numbers in the rulebook to cite XD

I believe you. No worries!

Base cost of 2452 before result.

I don't know if it makes a difference, but I do have one rank in Negotiations for a total of GY. You two have better though.

Shopping List Negotiations : 2eA+1eP+1eD 1 success, 4 advantage

Lots of advantage!! Just one success ^_^;;;;;

I guess Brin looked at the list and just thought Hey... I know one shop that sells all of that stuff lol

Nice! Took you 3 minutes and saved 5%.

Spent 2329.

Looks like Brin calls in an order from a distribution center he has connections to and you guys swing by to pick it up on your way out.

Out of curiosity how is the time determined? Is there a rule for it in one of the books, or did @Ryoden post something that I missed?

I posted the rules a couple pages back. 30 minutes halved by each advantage.

So I guess we're waiting for @Hinklemar to make a roll for Fzaexx to go shopping. I am going to be busy tomorrow. I may not have a chance to write up the transition to the next scene, where you guys are at the debris field, until Monday.

Do you want to start that as a new chapter? I feel like it may be appropriate. Essentially we end the first session and start the next. What that means is, I hand out xp and we roll for Obligation and Destiny.

lol yeh i don't think we have a choice. I'm okay with everything you just said, haha. Looking forward to Monday I guess!

Sorry about the temporary silence (very busy day). Was not everything collected by Brin with that roll? If not, Fzaexx is too distracted by wanting to get the information about fleet movement and timing; he has no time for something so petty as shopping.

You only have a

2eA+2eP+2eD

Plus we get a new destiny point pool shortly, so you can flip one and further change the odds.

Fzaexx retreats to the office and starts comming his contacts who might be able to clue him into where the imps went and hopefully predict when they'll be back. At one point someone interrupted him and tasked him with finding the medical pack and the MD. He splits a fraction of effort into finding them. After an hour he comes out of the office frustrated by a near complete lack of information about what the imps are doing.

With the minimal effort devoted to shopping he only found one place that has items, at list price.

He did talk to one slicer who identified what system in the Abrion sector the imperials are all headed to, Scarif.

First session/chapter is over. Not a lot happened besides getting the group up and away but some good roleplaying occurred and some interesting twists were added to what I thought the plot of the story was going to be.

Experience:

- Again not much happened but you'll get 10 for the story advancement and 5 for the character portraits for Khaine, Tox and Brin (hint hint). So everyone gets 15 Total.

Obligation: no one identified any IC posts as specifically addressing one of their Obligations but I saw the following.

- Fzaexx did surprisingly well with the Verpine ship trader and should feel better about his position from that. His Disgraced Obligation will go down by one.

- S'zish is working towards taking something from the Empire that they have been covetous of for many years. His Betrayal Obligation will go down by one.

- Tox is working well with her new allies and has contributed without suspecting them of ill intentions. Her Betrayal Obligation will go down by one.

Obligation for Chapter 2 : 1d100 82

Looks like the group is feeling good about their prospects and are heading to the debris field with minimal stress.

Feel free to Roll for the next Destiny Pool while I am typing up the start of Chapter two.

Give me a sec to post the rules before you start posting. I'll edit this in a few once I've typed them out.

I put what I spent the XP on under the notes section, Cool 1 and Stealth 2.
