Shadows in the Light (OOC)

By Ryoden, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

My thoughts are either yay we have a walker that works that's ours, yay we have a walker that works that we can sell, or yay we have parts for a walker that we can sell.

The second two would give us the possible credits we need to charter time on a ship to the wrecks

Dibs...

As I know Tox is not a good negotiator, I would like to go take a look at this walker.

I would love like to roll to determine its viability as a vehicle. See how damaged it may be.

Tox can head out to where the walker was put aside and look it over. It will be an easy (+1eD) Mechanics check to figure out what is wrong with it and determine the difficulty of actually doing the repair work.

Sorry guys!

Walker Mechanics : 2eA+1eD 2 failures, 3 advantage

You head out there and look the walker over. Thinking as you do that maybe you should leave this to the ones better trained at Mechanics. Despite some rudimentary training all you are able to figure out is that the thing is broken. Seeing as you already knew this, it is not particularly helpful. It is up to you, typically, to decide how you spend your advantage. Though if you want I can make some suggestions.

Please also remember to put something in the IC thread to represent this action.

Streetwise : 1eC+1eD+2eA 0 successes, 1 threat

Here's my streetwise. Unfortunately, I don't think I know anyone.

None of the contacts you like are available right away. There is this one guy but he has some issues. It may be better to think of someone else first.

What would be the difficulty (and skill) of recalling a possible person/location that would have a small in-system only ship (aka no hyperdrive) that we could rent, and then take to the salvage area without having someone looking over our shoulders.

@Ahrimon I revised my response to your roll. You may want to revise your IC post.

@Imperial Stormtrooper Same as earlier Average Streetwise upgraded once (+1eD+1eC) Your result will dictate the quality of choices you can find "right now".

That went well.

Ships Available : 3eA+1eD+1eC 2 successes, 1 advantage

Done. I hope you don't mind if I made the he a she and put some implications behind why he's hesitant to contact her.

S'zish recalls an individual that has the sort of ship you are looking for. It is a relatively small vessel (that has no stats and I am making up) used for in system transport. The advantage can either be that it will hold enough cargo room for you all to bring up some supplies with you or that the owner already owes you a favor and will let you use the ship without haggling for a price. Or let me know what you want the advantage to be.

btw, yes I am liking your posts. It is a simple means of letting you knowing that I have read the post.

Middle of swim lessons, will post shortly

Also, just because Tox "called dibs" and went to look at the walker first, does not mean others of you can not look at it too. I will tell you if one attempt is all you get as a group.

I will update the Obligation chart once I have a character from @crookedcrown , I guess for chapter one we can go without triggering since I rolled a 44 and that would have been Shard, and he is gone.

Lol. I read that as Dum-Dum Series Droid. Now I want a whole swarm of them to put to work. :)

Initial Destiny Roll : 1eF 1 Dark Side

Sorry Guys :(

Initial Credits Roll : 1d100 1

Well, I hope these won't reflect the rest of my rolls. I'll go ahead and post when I get home from work tonight. Also, welcome Crown :)

What page are my options for advantage on in the core rulebook? if i can't think of anything obvious, I'll check for suggestions.

I also meant dibs purely jokingly that if I could get it running, I was going to take it and leave because, it's a Walker, why wouldn't I?

Ok, can I do this?

1 boost die to next person going to check the walker

2 advantage spent to notice some imperial coms codes. (unknown of course if they work)

Sure sounds good.

As you're going over the Walker you clean up some mud and loose cabling. That's how you grant a boost die to the next person working on it. As you're going through the cab, which seems fairly well intact, you notice that the com box has an Imperial issue data link inserted in it.

This is particularly strange considering the Walker is not an Imperial Walker. It is an industrial machine.

The walker is a Hunchback Construction Strider. From page 54 of Far Horizons.

I think more cargo space is better, if we don't have enough we might be able to sell off some items from the salvage yard.

I'll put something up IC soon.

I took some liberties with how whomever gets the boost, I hope thats ok.
