Space fights mainly focused in Battlefront II??

By Visovics, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

The raider is canon!! Another thing to gather from the trailer, is how much we see star fighters. This made me analyse the trailer further, and I think the story mode is mainly about space fights!

Let me explain. So the narration we have in the trailer is a woman talking, presumably the one in endor. After some detailed looking up, I've concluded they are TIE pilots, but with a red stripe on the helmet? THEY ARE A SPECIAL SQUADRON, another thing, is how they show the raider and it's escort of 2 TIE fighters... could it be a special ops team that needs a slim ship? And the most 2 important pieces of evidence: the central character with the game name is not any main or even extra iconinc figure like a normal stormtrooper, it's a TIE PILOT! And linking to this there is a symbol in the EA website, which seems to be in the TIE pilot helmet, reinforcing the idea of a special TIE squadron!!

Am I going crazy or it really seems that the campaign promissed for Battlefront II will be space focused? <3 I am loving 2017 star wars wise!

Well in the end picture there are providence class warships squaring off with Venators.

My feeling is they're going to go full out with this Battlefront, hopefully with single player instant action. If it took the first one being a mess to get this second one right i'm alright with that. I also hope Battlefront II just has all the maps from I available for everyone, the DLC gate does a great job making sure the DLC maps are empty.

Oh man, I thought this was about Battlefront II for the PS2. I was really excited...

you thought it was about the best game ever? (And it will remain unless the new BF gives us what the old one had and more!)

Disney Twitter replied to a fan, Battlefront II campaign is Canon.

i agree with some and disagree with some. Is Inferno squad a special unit: yes. Is their armor basically pilot armor: yes. However, thinking from a military stand point, these guys are SF (special forces) to boot. SF units are capable in many areas of warfare. So wouldn't it make sense for Star Wars' SF unit to be skilled pilots as well? I mean it's Star Wars for Lucas' sake. As for the focus of the campaign, I'd call it 50/50 ground/space. nice balance. However, I would like that space combat to be 50% T.I.E. varients and 50% raider work. As for multiplayer, My Fett clone ass cannot wait to don my armor and slap some clankers!

Here's what I really what I want from the new game, along with the campaign let us have offline battles on all the maps, basically instant play from the old battlefront games.

As for Inferno Squad they totally make sense as a special ops tie fighter squadron. Dressed in the flight gear armor probably lets them easily go from ground combat to space without needing to change equipment or uniforms. On the other hand they could be primarily a highly trained tie fighter squadron with spec ops training that is also capable of performing surface missions on foot.

Completely agree. Now I don't want to sound rude or anything, but to give a bit of context to the original post: Those were my thoughts when the teaser came out, and we still had no information about any maps or Inferno Squad.

true, my bad if it seemed like I was coming at you. I was just adding to what you had. either way, this game looks lit. just have to wait for the game play trailer during e-3.

don't worry, it didn't seem like you were coming at me, I just wanted to clarify the lack of detail on the post, and thanks for 'updating' it

I am so glad they are putting in a single player campaign in Battlefront II.... and I hope it is a fulfilling experience. The story trailer looks really great.

Only one other thing I want from BF II..... More VR content! I loved the brief VR add on they made for the first Battlefront. I want more.

It would be really cool if DICE/EA could get the license to redo/reimagine all the X wing PC titles (X Wing, X Wing vs TIE Fighter, X Wing Alliance) as VR games for consoles. :)
