Hey. I run a review site for RPGs and since May is coming up soon I wanted to prepare some reviews of Star Wars RPG supplements for May the 4th. I was wondering what you all think are the best and the worst supplements/ Adventure Modules made for the series.
What supplement to review?
How familiar are you with the system in general? Cause there are a few ways to answer your question.
Pretty familiar I have every book up to No Disintegrations except the Pirate Queen and I have run about 4 campaigns so far. But specifically I was thinking of which ones offer the most fun additions, especially for players.
I suppose if I had to vote on one career book as being most important for players to have I would go with Special Modifications because of the item crafting rules.
I'm not really familiar with the published adventures.
For adventures, I think a review of Jewel of Yavin could be interesting. That adventure has a lot of pros and cons to discuss.

I second the motion.
The career books all use the exact same format so it's impossible for me to objectively say one is better than the other.
Suns of Fortune , Lords of Nal Hutta , and Nexus of Power are all equally good, but for different reasons. The Strongholds of Resistance setting book has a number of problems including presenting a map of Echo Base that's both uninteresting and seeming too small, flat-out forgetting to include a map of the Polis Massa Rebel facility, and presenting worlds that, if you go beyond Chandrila and Mon Cala, don't actually don't seem to have that much in common. It's not a bad book but it's very weak in comparison. It does present a cool and original secret base with a built-in timeline for improvements.
The Jewel of Yavin is the most interesting published adventure but it also has an overt railroad in order to give pilots something to do. The Age of Rebellion adventure Assault at Arda I is rather uninspired - and makes the mistake of doing yet another Battle of Hoth evacuation sequence - but it has a very interesting investigation sequence. The Chronicles of the Gatekeeper adventure starts strong but telegraphs its ending. Mask of the Pirate Queen spends pages setting up a massive space battle and statting ships but it peters into a nothingburger boarding action.
I've found that the only adventure that doesn't have any built-in issues or failed promises is Beyond the Rim .

It's all well and good re-reviewing stuff for FFG Star Wars RPG to entice new players.... the problem, outside the USA, is trying to get hold of a copy, even procuring the Core rules for any of the three lines at a reasonable price seems a bit hit and miss

Edited by ExpandingUniverseThank you everyone for the input. I'm definitely going to be reviewing the Jewel of Yavin based on this feedback. For the review site I'll be releasing different Star Wars every day of May in celebration of May the 4th. If anyone's interested the website is beginnerrpg.siterubix.com Thanks again for all the feedback!
