A new type of upgrade?!

By Visovics, in Star Wars: Armada

Since Rogue One, I've seen many people wanting to have Ion torpedoes on Y-wings, and similar types of changes on squadrons, so here's my idea: SQUADRON SUPPORT

So a new slot, that would give changes to squads being activated, so for example: ION TORPEDOES "Squadrons you activate with the word bomber have a battery of 2 blue dice"

or TARGET LOCK "Squadrons you activate get an additional red die when attacking squadrons"

Good idea? Awful idea? Broken? Stupid?

Good idea, but i think it might go ahead and become to much X wing 'ish too high of an emphasis on squadron battle.. But iam down with it just have to balanced, so everybody dont run the same Fighter Squads like in Xwing..

I was thinking the same in maybe adding? Tactics cards (could be nice if they where hidden, so your oppenent cant see what tactic card you have before you play it) that give you advantage some shap of form and the mind games, could be a fun way maybe to introduce The Grand Admiral Thrawn since he was know for his "special" tactics".. Could be nice if there was a "tactic" card that did something like this Hyperspace jump range 1-3 of of a certain point

One can only dream

SQUADRONS DO NOT NEED MORE MULTIPLICATIVE REROLL OR EXTRA DICE OR EXTRA DAMAGE EFFICIENCY. THEY ARE THE STRONGEST AND MOST RELIABLE SOURCE OF DAMAGE IN THIS GAME. MULTIPLICATIVE ADDITIONAL DICE OR REROLLS SNOWBALL SQUADRONS MORE AND MORE. WHAT ARE GOOD AGAINST SQUADRONS = MORE SQUADRONS.

I though Norra kind of represented Ion Torpedos.

I agree. Squadrons really do not need any more help.

It's too bad we don't have signatures anymore for this.

That's a really good way to look at it...I may need to run Nora next time I fly my Rabble.

or nym, since ion canons seem to like to screw with defense tokens

Is no one gonna remark on the unique outline of that Mon Cal in the Rebel Fleet?

CONCLUSION: It already exists, without being a specific upgrade

Ah... childish rage control issues... You would think that a dark side user mastered his hatred...

Well you found an Easter Egg...more or less.... Who's a seafood fan here?

Perhaps having different weapon setups for squadrons could be done simpler by having different squadron cards for certain weapons, just like named characters. Rather than adding them as new upgrade slots to ships. You could have the standard Tie-bomber squadron, a more expensive Ion Bomb equiped Tie-bomber squadron, and the Major Rhymer Tie-bomber.

MC in picture..... Mon Remonda? Looks too long but the bulbous front and tapering aft kinda match. Maybe one I don't recognize that you who are better EU versed than me might know?
