Those Dastardly Rebels

By UberMunchkin, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hey folks, so I don't normally play Rebels however I'm having a fly what you aren't night with some friends where we are swapping our usual roles. I usualy fly Imperial so I'm going Rebel and my friend who usually goes for Scum is instead going for Imperials.

Anyway, as I don't often fly Rebels I'm not super up on Rebel list building so I was wondering if I could tap into the global omni-mind for some help.

I want to fly at least one B-Wing (I've always loved the B-Wing as a ship) and that part I've got sorted:

Keyan Farlander (39)
B-Wing (29), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Rage (1), B-Wing/E2 (1), Inspiring Recruit (1)

My question is, what to fly with him, I'm a collector of the minis as well as a player so I have got at least one of everything released so far so I'm pretty open as to what to put on the board with him. I was thinking maybe Capt. Rex in the Rebel TIE (after all, I usually play Imperials so I'm pretty confidant I can fly a TIE and I like the sound of the Suppressive Fire condition) but what else?

I would start by dropping HLC. You're painting a 7-point target on Farlander's already overpriced back. Keeping the upgrades to a minimum will help him live longer and reduce the pain of loss when he inevitably goes down. Also, throw collision detector on; it's free and you can use Debris to stress Farlander without fear of damage.

Rex is good. I like Rex with Sabine's TIE title, Tactician and BMST. It makes 18 points an opponent cannot afford to ignore. (Which in turn might extend the life of Farlander.)

With the last 50 points you could go for Corran or Miranda. If you want a 4-ship list, you could do a StressHog and another generic. Maybe Green Squadron Pilot seasoned to taste.

I suppose I could drop the HLC & swap it for a Mangler maybe. Rage means I can always generate the stress and get re-rolls as well and inspiring recruit means dumping the stress is easy as well.

A Corran would be a nice add though. Hmm. Head to Head jousting fun as well.

Drop it alltogether, you have a 3 dice primary, so you don't need a cannon.

If you have 1 point a tractor beam might not be bad. I know I hate being on receiving end of these but that's in the context of a /D defender double tapping. But for a single point it might set you up for a perfect moment of sticking someone on a rock, lowering their agility, causing a damage, AND keeping them from shooting ALL at once!

Take a gander at this offering.

Full disclosure, I stole the nien numb build from another list.

As you can see I am also ok with one point spent for the chance of a great tractor beam shot.
