I Heard You Hate Ion Tokens, So I Put Some Ion Tokens On Your Ion Tokens

So I've been bumbling around with a bunch of lists recently, desperately trying to figure out a truly competitive list, one which bridges survivability with reliable damage even against aces, and I think I might have finally stumbled on an option:

Ion Bombs (2)

The idea is pretty clear: get them ioned, keep them ioned, and thus keep out of their arcs. You don't need to do the damage fast when they're doing none. Or if you fly them off the board!

Thoughts?

It's not a bad idea, just know that it will have bad match ups against other turret and aux firing arc lists, which unfortunately are pretty plentiful in the current state of the game. I definitely recommend trying it though and reporting back with how it goes. It looks fun enough I might have to take it for a test drive myself...

There's nothing better than the look on someone's face when you gingerly walk their ship off the board for them. My best ion experience ever was (ironically) moving an otherwise untouched Miranda with Conner Net's off the mat while using a Brobots list.

Number one concern for me would be the inability to reliably land 2 ion tokens/turn once the bombs run out or you're out of bombing position. Could give you trouble against large ship lists. If nothing else, though, it looks like some crazy fun will be had!

Don't you mean 'ionically' ?

Did something similar with Han/Miranda. Tons of fun.

Recently I put together a Zuckuss/Y/Y ion list that did surprisingly well against a Kanan/Sabine/Poe list. Demolished it really.

One of the Ys got Seismic Charges, and the other one got a Proximity Mine.

The Ys are really tanky, get to double tap, and have the chance to ion the crap out of everything thanks to their cannons and torpedoes. Zuckuss packs a punch, can reposition, and thanks to tractor beam can put enemy ships in the Ys archs.

I don't know. It was fun to fly.
