What do you want to see in the future?

By Lyraeus, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Me? I want flying units. I want Dragons that have Brutal 3 and roll a White die, I want Pegasi and Roc's. Packs of Devil Hounds and siege engines of War (Rock Golems with Scorpions?)

What do you want to see?

How about units with a melee attack and then a melee attack as modifier....oooh...

Dunno, right now it's all pretty standard fantasy army stuff. Want to see them get releases out on time first, then what new stuff will come later. :D Dragons would be nice, chariots?

I'm wanting to see large things in the future. 2x2 base size critters. Hill Giants, Dragons, etc

Scorpions

You have my absolute full attention! Scorpions are my favorite living creature and I would love to see them in this game. REALLY hoping to see Malaana's mount from BattleLore: Command.

More fluffy scenarios/objectives! I want siege engines and fortress assaults!

But most of all I want more variations of regular troops. In the future I hope we see big armies of combines infantry and cavlary trying to outmaneuver eachother instead of specialised units of combo special rules that win the game in a single roll.

I used to have an emperor scorpion as a pet, her name was Skarner. She was a big softie!

Wrong kind of Scorpions but it could be a thing with the Demon faction

I really just want to see a lot more unit options, which I know we'll get there eventually but as it stands (like any new table top) it's pretty slim pickin's. But honestly I just want to see some more unique/original models. Right now, while some of them models are nice (carrion lancer, golem) a majority of them are pretty bland/vanilla.

Rules-wise: More terrain. More upgrades

Unit-wise: More variety. The more the better. People have made great suggestions above.

Variants: SIEGES!!!

Siege weaponry?

Having a catapult or ballista would be cool, though might need some tweaking to balance it right (as in, it really doesnt want to move)

edit: Given that this game has a prediction element to it, dropped effects could be cool too. Such as dropping hot oil or something for an aoe of badness

I am ashamed. -_-

Dragons. Other large creatures that fill more than one tray.

Campaigns....

Enough figures to play Runewars boardgame battles using Runewars Miniature Game.

Don't worry. I like your idea as well!

Any kind of scorpion is great.

The Golems with two giant crossbows...

Yup. The Romans called them Scorpions

This is my first time ever hearing that. I just looked it up myself. Then again, I've always been into sci-fi more than history, so it's no wonder this word is new to me.

I love history and I love Sci-fi so yea... I know silly things.

Daqan has a "Siege Golem" but it's more like a big stone bear/dog with a ballista mounted on its back with a dude operating it.

I want a descent conversion kit

What I really want to see?

Wraiths with a special modifier that lets them ignore collision.

Passing through terrain unhindered, passing through enemy tarpits, or going ethereal and laughing as an enemy charge passes right through them.

Very yes.

oh i know what i want

Orcs.

Cant have a fantasy game without orcs. WAAA-- wait thats scifi....

I would love to see an Adventure Expansion, perhaps part of a campaign expansion? I'm imagining something like this: a big unique unit that takes up 4 trays like a dragon or a giant (which becomes a showpiece for your collection like the big ships in XWing) except you can actually bring this to tournaments and play with it as a neutral model. Set the monster up in the middle of the board or occupying a unique terrain piece (the dragon in its lair, giant in its camp) and when the fight starts the monster follows some preset of orders, like the dragon attacks any enemy engaged first, then breathes fire on anything in range 5, then moves towards the closest unit as priorities. Each turn a unit occupies the lair terrain it gains an objective token (or a token for inflicting a wound on the dragon or whatever the objective is). At the end of the match, any surviving unit with these special tokens adds points to your score to determine the victor.

Objective: Dragon's Hoard 10 pts

Setup: Place the Dragon's Lair in the center of the table. Place the Dragon neutral unit occupying that terrain. The Dragon uses the Dragon Monster Card to determine its action at the beginning of each round. Place six objective tokens on the Dragon's Lair terrain.

During Play: When one of your units overlaps an objective token, place that token on its unit card. When one of your units ends their turn occupying the Dragon's Lair terrain, take one of the remaining objective tokens and place it on your unit card. When a unit is destroyed, place any objective tokens that were on their unit card and place them in the center of that unit's last position. You score all objective tokens on your units' cards at the end of the game.

Not siege sized, but hand-held. Smaller than scorpion/ballista sized. :D

D&D Attack Wing had scenarios like this. The final OP featured Tiamat in the center of the board, with players taking turns declaring targets for her. They had a lot of scenarios with rules featuring outside neutral forces impacting the battle. I'd love to see RMG do something similar.
