I think he looks rather small, next to Ardus, so I could be convinced that it is the Descent mini.
New Waiqar hero
On page 21 of the guide for the Pale Worm Rider the first paragraph starts with
Here's the answer! Later in the guide they have this blurb next to a carrion lancer:
This Carrion Lancer is part of Jonas Faering’s red army
“Kyndrithyl’s Undying Legions.” The army was painted using
The Army Painter Technique as standard and then taken to a
tournament level by giving the whole army a single highlight. To
read more about Jonas’s army, make sure you check The Army
Painter website.
So somebody made a cool custom army with their Descent mini.

That makes me a very sad creature of the night
Aw, I'm sorry to dash your hopes. But trust me, we deserve better than a dingleberry like that guy.

Nowhere, though presumably it will say in his blog once that goes live.

I mean it wouldn't surprise me if it was.
With their wide range of models you can see hints of expansion such as...

Dragons and undead hounds.
Looking at the picture, it looks like Kyndrithul's base is smaller and the dark color around his base is shadow rather than the basing color on ardus. At least to me. I'm pretty convinced it's jsut a descent mini, but like sirdrasco pointed out, does look like we're getting some hints.
If I weren't so into necromancy I would be appalled.

Undead guy's copied article says as much. My favourite part is 'the army painter method', as if blocking colour and dipping was created by them.

They're trying real hard to convince people dipping their figures in a tub of quickshade is some proprietary method.

Minwax, have you heard of it *bleep*.
Failing that it is a terrible method unsuitable for anything but the lowest quality results, good for undetailed board game miniatures/stuff you don't want to put time into.
