So.. is expertise worth it on dengar?

and enjoyed it a lot. Won 3 games in a row yesterday with it but couldnt help thinking that a stress from opponents hog or assaj or whatever would have shut down expertise every turn almost. on the other hand.. maybe thats ok. if a low ps stessgiver uses all its energy on keeping ps 9 dengar in arc then they will miss sometimes.

I've played pretty much that exact list. Expertise Dengar is very, very solid - the stressors can usually be handled with Barrel Roll if need be.

Personally I used Gyros on Assaj and scattered Rigged Chutes liberally around, because a whole mess of extra stress and obstacles can really mess with the enemy.

yeah, that is good too. I just love reposition on her. I´ll have to try non EU config again.

What other ept are you considering? Predator is redundant with k4, vi is wasted not infrequently, ptl gets into trouble against the same things as expertise, lone wolf requires too much distance between your 2 ships, there aren't many options that make more sense to me.

VI is the other obvious one for Dengar. PS11 is going to make him the king of the castle in most engagements and he can get his second set of mods from K4, or both sets of mods from K4 and Stim if he's bumped.

I've done VI/R4 Agro/RecSpec previouslyt which works quite nicely, gives him a decent chunk of defence or potentially two sets of double mods.

Rage isn't a bad thought, especially if you go with Inspiring Recruit for the crew.

Anytime you're debating an ept and comparing what else could you use, I tend to default to CS or a score to settle. Expertise down to CS saves you 3 points and CS will always be useful. Score to Settle saves you 4 points, and helps erase 1 ship off the board that much faster. So if PtL is questionable, VI is meaningless, predator is redundant, maybe look at those 2 and spend 3-4 points elsewhere

thing is, though, what does the list want? maybe to tank up dengar. countermeasures, stems for that one turn when you cant get away? idk..

Sorry, yes, Crackshot. It tends to be my go-to EPT if you aren't sure what to use. Its cheap, works with any weapon, so tends to be less situational than other EPTs. So its the one I typically measure other choices against

Lots of rigged cargos! 3 more obstacles you can load on :)

Worth noting that Crack is in-arc only so it's not QUITE as good on a turret, even Dengar.

Rage and Inspiring Recruit are only a total of 2 pts and works for offense and defense. Rage gives 2 Focus and re-rolls for all attacks. It came with Dengar and is also the guy it's supposed to go on, fluff wise. Inspiring Recruit removes the issues of double stress and can even remove Stresshog stress all in one turn.

I kind of prefer LW/Rec Spec because it works with sloops. K4 doesn't trigger when you sloop.

TBF if you stim you get the same effect as Expertise, plus a defensive bonus, so if you're getting focus fired it might well be worth it.

I really love LW and have played it a lot back in the day. Lw/recspec Leebo and Chewie were favorites. but with dengar and ventress I feel LW will not kick in often enough to make it worth it. idk.
