Raider is now officially canon!

By Forresto, in Star Wars: Armada

Disney is never going to put a giant space p***s on screen anywhere no matter how well written it is. Especially when they gave the name to a random new ship in their kids cartoon series.

I do hope you are not compensating for something :) If you see that in every rectangular shaped starship I advise councelling sessions.

It would also disqualify like 50% of all Starwars ships from making an appearance in Armada (Lancers, Dreadnoughts, Carracks etc..etc..)

Carracks have been replaced in role by Gozantis as TIE-carriers, and Lancers have been replaced by Raiders. I think for the better in both cases, also.

Everything in every official Star Wars product is now considered 100% canon to the universe it appears to exist in. This marginally segregates out things like the LEGO Star Wars universe or the Darth Vader and Son books, but since the video game is set in the Prequels, Original Trilogy, and New Trilogy it is officially canon to that universe in all media including the games, comics, books and films.

"Since then, the only previously published material still considered canon are the six original trilogy/prequel trilogy films, the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series and film, and the stand-alone Dark Horse Comics arc Star Wars: Darth Maul—Son of Dathomir; which was based on unproduced scripts from The Clone Wars TV series.[1] Most material published after April 25—such as the Star Wars Rebels TV series along with all Marvel Star Wars comic books and novels beginning with A New Dawn—is also considered part of the new canon, on account of the creation of the Lucasfilm Story Group, which currently oversees continuity as a whole. Characters under the Legends banner are still available for use as needed, even if events concerning them are no longer canon." - http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Canon#2014_reboot

Except Carrack isn't a TIE "carrier", that's the Escort Carrier. Carrack is a fast excellent frigate/light cruiser renowned for being tough for her size.

The reason Raider was made in place of the Lancer is because SIZE. FFG wanted a counterpart to the CR90 for X-Wing, they considered Lancer but it was too big. So they made the Raider that is same length as the CR90.

I don't see it except in ships that look like a giant p****s. And the Lancer did. With all the major features.

Also, all three of those ships you mentioned have mysteriously disappeared in the new canon. So you're probably going to need to look for some better examples.

New Canon: Tarkin and Aftermath for Carrack-class light cruiser. Before the Awakening for Lancer-class Frigate.

Did they get a description?

Was it "long, hard and full of Stormtroopers?"
