Anyone else researching cool looking stones for golem painting? I'm thinking a well painted opal golem would most bizarre/challenging.
Mr. Shine...
For for broke. Fossilized wood
I'd def try the granite/marble scheme from the Warhammer TV tutorial, if I planned on using them that is.
Giant fossilized dino droppings. :| no?
I'm deciding what colors to do my Daq with then I'll find something complimentary for the golems.

That's really cool looking!
Ah Mr shine, good reference!
I've been playing around with the idea of doing polished obsidian. More or less jet black with little white/light gray stripes in parts, then given a high gloss finish.
I am thinking some kind of white marble statue effect. Would match my plans for roman themed Daqan really well.
And I am no expert painter but there is some decent guides out there that make it look achievable.
Basically im going to use the scheme i wanted to do if i ever got into Circle for Warmachine/Hordes - obsidian golem. Very, very dark purple (almost black) with a more royal purple in the cracks (in place of the official model's blue effect). Most of it is going to be a gleaming trick, which fortunately i picked up from seeing someone paint an Aliens model in almost solid black yet it shined realistically (if i could find that thread again i'd link it since he did say how he did it)
