Bad Bombers list

By buckero0, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Very new to the game and trying to use some of the newly acquired ships as the paint is drying on my other stuff. I would love some pointers and even some basic "this is how you want to set up " type of advice

Objectives

Precision Strike / Fighter Ambush / Minefields

NebB escort - Flight Commander, Fighter Coordination Team, TRC, Yavaris

Pelta Command - Adar Tallon, Fighter Coordination Team

NebB Support - Dual Turbo turrets, Salvation

Gr75 - General Rieekan, Comms Net, Bright Hope

Nym

Norra Wexley

wedge Antilles

Dagger Squad

Gold Squad

Rogue Squad

Tycho

Shara Bey

The idea is the Awings intercept other squads, I try to move the Y wings and Bwings up with coordinate and with Wedge as escort and then get some bombers in place and double smash with Yavaris

Not sure if I can make it work. the GR75 will give Yavaris squadron tokens, while Salvation takes pot-shots

Without Intel you run the risk your opponent jumps in a handful of fighters and quagmires all your bombers. I'd definitely find the points to include Jan Ors

Dagger is too slow to keep up with your other squads anyway, there's your HWK points already...

Needs more Jan Ors

B-Wing are amazing bombers, but they are only really worth with RLB, otherwise they will get into battle too late and if they are engaged by squadrons they will NEVER fire against a ship

6 pts doesn't seem like much of a bid, should I drop something else? I was going for as many unique squads as I could to benefit from Rieekan.

That and I don't really have ships that can sustain a beating, so they're going to have to hang back a bit and let Nym, Norra and the other squadrons with bomber do their thing, to drop tokens and shields before the Nebs come in at the end and hopefully snipe someone.

Disagree here

He has 2 ships with fighter coordination teams. I can tell you from experience that with those it's possible to pretty much hit someone in their deployment area with Bwings on turn 1 (it's tight though much better to hit a ship that's moved even distance 1 or be sneaky and get AFFM working turn 1 as well). My latest fleet hit's you in the face with 4 Bwings turn 1 and doesn't let up.

I will recommend that you try to fit in some relay squadrons. Just 2 of them help alot I've found especially with weak ships that may have to spend time running away from big ships as it let's you keep using a couple squadrons an activation at least (they work great with yavaris).

Also if you are planning on alot of your damage being from bombers rather than ships you should really invest in a Bomber Command Center for your gr75 rather than the Comms Net. The rerolls really really help.

I think I didn't notice the Fighter Coordination Team, thanks for pointing it out. But still, B-wings are only worth if they have heavy support in order to get close to ships, if only they had something like rhymer...

That I agree with

I've tried hard to make an imperial version but the only thing that works for me is double interdictor lists ....which have their own problems lol.

For the b wings to work (for me anyhow) I need to bring Jan Ors, 2 xwing escorts and 2 relays. Guess what? That's pretty much your entire squadron allowance. Small changes can be made but it does turn it into a gimmicky fleet for sure.

You can fit Jan, Biggs, Luke, a Yt-1300, Ten Numb, a Bwing, and 2xVCX

Which is a significantly escorted Relay bomber wing.

With Rieekan and yavaris with FCT is much more aggressive. Ram yavaris into a big target to stop it for a turn, double tap with nym and 2 bwings, repeat for effect. Win.

I think without getting too crazy with your build, drop Rogue, Tyco and Sharra for Luke and a HWK

etc
