It's funny how labels only work the way we want them to, eh? I mean, it's not a card game (how dare we call it that!), it's a 'small, local game store game.' Convenient.
SoR OFFICIAL RELEASE DATE
7 hours ago, krzykoopa said:Since you like repeating yourself I might as well to
I don't need to cite exact dates and sets that is a lot of work and seeing as you put 0 effort into your responses I am not going to do the leg work. In other threads I have and you just act ignorant to the facts I present as stated before when I quoted the GAMA video that thread is a perfect example. Also those who played those games know exactly what I am talking about hat not every set was super readily available.
You have a funny way of showing you aren't against something, once AGAIN the GAMA thread addresses what you are complaining about for the 100th time.
Third time this has happened? The second set isn't even out yet I repeat THE SECOND SET HAS NOT BEEN RELEASED YET and you are saying this is the 3rd time this happened… And I swear FFG could saturate the market with destiny product and you would still be here bitching post after post.
More research…. GAMA again talks about this and see above for 3rd time comment because you just say the same non sense in multiple threads hell even in this thread.
your putting 0 efforts in your response because you have nothing to go on, prob because the so called shortage never happened. what they said in the gamma video is proof of nothing, the proof is them actually delivering on it and so far it has not.
I will stop complaining when ffg gets there head out of there ass and fixes these problems, the game is suffering because of there unavailability. You all seem to be happy with it being a niche game when this game could be more.
1st: set one awakening
2nd: short of pre release kits
3rd: set 2

If you hate Destiny or FFG so much, you should find somewhere else to spend what must be hours every single day. You comment on every thread and the large majority of your comments are useless and negative.
Second, FFG isn't telling you this is a card game. FFG has called this a "collectible dice and card game" every time they've mentioned it. From their Destiny central page and their video tutorial to every single article they've published, the words "collectible dice and card game" are ever-present. Hold them to whatever standard a moron like you holds companies to, but don't try to twist their words to justify your stance.
I bet you're a terrible person to play any game with.
valid counterpoints? all i heard was excuses for them
3 hours ago, Mep said:Note, Dice and card, dice is first and foremost. Not a CCG but a CDCG. To be fair,CDCG isn't a huge thing, so I can see how one could be COMPLETELY AND UTTERLY WRONG in thinking it was just a CCG.
The most important difference of course is production of the game. Those silk screen dice are far harder to make than a standard printed card and is a completely new process. The margins on those boosters is a lot lower as well. Hasbro makes all kinds of monies off magic because those boosters really don't cost them that much. If they over produce and no one buys Conspiracy lets say, they don't lose a lot. This isn't the case for a dice game. So over producing a CDG isn't an option for any business. This is simply the reality of this game. If you think this is just a CCG and have all those expectations, then this game isn't for you. You need to walk away and go play a CCG.
The truth is, other than the print on demand core sets, those expansions may never be printed in excess of demand. They are however doing a great job of making sure places like MM don't get way too much product so the hoarders and price gougers don't corner the market but instead get those boxes to local game stores so they can get them into the hands of the gamers. If you think you should just be able to go down to Target or Barns and Noble and pick up a few Destiny boosters along with a few magic boosters, well then, this isn't the game for you. This is a small, local game store game and supply is going to be what it is.
were did they say this is supposed to be a local store small game ? I never heard of a company that would limit there product to being half of what it could be if done right.
you may be happy with your group of players but for us who can't even get a playgroup to even play with because there is no product to buy know the true reality of the situation. My bet is if you were in the same sit your tune will be a little different, everbody should be able to get product that want them anything other then that is bad business.

are me and you the only ones looking at the long term survival of this game? This game could be huge if there was product to buy, soon ppl other then the ffg worshipers will get fed up and leave which will hurt the chances of survival for this game. We are called haters and entitled because we refuse to ignore the facts and not just accept the stuff the company feeds us.
the way I see it is we are the ones who care about the game the most and see it's real potential and hate seeing it put in danger by a comp that is dropping the ball. If ffg turns around and fixes the problem I will be the first to praise them but as of right now I see no reason to praise or even trust what they say.

1st: set one awakening
2nd: short of pre release kits
3rd: set 2
Nothing to go on? Right like when Marvel origins sold out and you couldn't get more so boxes were going for triple or when the first set of Yugioh released and blue eyes was going for 30 (which was a starter card) and Raigeki 50 and of course product sold out and agin boxes were going for ridiculous high OHHH Invasion of Chaos that was a fun set, Gemini elf first 1900 attack non monster the demand was so high they limited P.O and had nothing left in stock because of the craze for that. Then there are countless magic sets that sell out and fetch a ridiculously high price. Come on its time for you to stop acting like a child.
There is no instant solution so you will keep bitching which makes you seem very entitled and whiney but thats not surprising.
The 2nd set isn't even out yet! The release is in another 2 weeks they said they would do in waves but the 1st wave hasn't hit yet and you are already bitching about it.
Go ahead and complain, I will keep playing and enjoying the game and see if the issues are fixed with spirit oh and I will come on here time to time to call you on your BS.
Edited by krzykoopaSpell check
FFG's reasoning behind supporting local game stores over selling their goods on Amazon is those play groups. Amazon doesn't create and support them, local game stores do. I am not sure if FFG has the capitol to produce the amount of product you think they should be doing. They have a strategy they can afford to do and one they feel will give them the best chance of success. Remember, they know their own business and you know little of it.

there was plenty of IOC here in kentucky as for the early days of vs and magic you could be right but those were the very early days, when do you see a shortage now?
your defending everything they do makes you seem fanboyish and blind, like FFG can do no wrong and that there misteps did not hurt the true potential of the game., and how much bigger it could have been if everyone could get product to play.
And you keep on trying to teach your Grandmother to suck eggs, FFG knows they have to do better and has said as much.
So I preordered at the start of March, from 3 different U.K. Suppliers, on the basis that this would increase my chances of actually getting product on release. Nothing too excessive, 50 boosters total.
I decided to contact all three sellers this week to confirm if I had been allocated stock for release day, and when the product might ship.
Two retailers came back to me and confirmed yes, I had allocated stock, and they expect it to ship to me on 4 May, or maybe the day beforehand.
The third retailer didn't know when it would arrive or if I had allocated stock.
Assuming the retailers are up to speed on the supply fiasco first time around, I'm fairly confident I've received honest answers. I doubt I'd get told I had allocated stock if there was a risk of short supply again.
Interestingly, the third retailer is the smallest of the three, and therefore may be receiving less stock than the bigger companies, or may just be playing it safe.
Anyway, thought I'd share - I'm vaguely optimistic!
If it is just 50 boosters, no problem, if it is 50 boxes, it would be a good sign if all those go filled. I am sure their are plenty of people ordering around 50 or so boxes and will be getting them all in the first two waves.
Our supplier (shop, in Italy) had no issue in acquiring 3 cases (18 boxes), nor any shop in Italy as far as I know
(Take into account that even if cards are translated, dice are the same and dice are the manufacturing limiting factor, not cards)

You mean like how they announced the Spirit of rebellion PO kits will be made available again for those who missed it? Or how they are increasing the size of the spirit print run and doing it in waves? OOORRRRR how they are printing awakenings again? I guess thats me being a fanboy and the actions aren't loud enough for you. But I love how when I give examples of other games having a shortage and issues your response was " there was plenty of IOC here in kentucky as for the early days of vs and magic you could be right but those were the very early days, when do you see a shortage now? " With your ignorant rationale 1. Destiny is also just starting so you are a hypocrite. 2. I had no shortage of destiny here in NJ so if I went by your logic there is no problem 3. Invasion of chaos was the TENTH SET out and I didn't go into even more **** like when VS had galactic shortages or when Magic sold out of gatecrash pre release guild boxes and then the set sold out and the prices of the dual… I can go on and on.
Notice not once did I say destiny has no problem or its the best game ever or anything of that sort. I am just tired of your nonsense and being a whiney child. You are out of your element going back and forth with me and I know your pride wont let you but you should just stop.

wow you have a high opinion of your self
yes this is the first set but there is decade worth of info to go on unlike magic when it started up. Yes they may be sending more out but that's after shorting product out in the first place and from what I heard that awakening reprint is not until june which is to late by then. I have to be skeptic about you having plenty of supply, do you mean ppl could go out and buy random packs for msrp and not the bloated price ppl are selling it for now?
I coincide you could be right on vs and magic I got in them late, but have not heard of a sellout in either in the last decade, and even if your 100 percent right the outage has not been as bad as this one, You can't even go to ebay and get a box without paying twice the price of a normal box.
you tell me how can someone get a player in the game if there is no product to sale them? ( buying singles is not an answer, a lot of ppl that I been around don't buy online and it should not be required of them to do)
also tell me how this is not bad for the game ?
tell me how the playerbase was not hurt?

High opinion of myself? No, I just see your responses and how you go about addressing this. It is quite clear who is bringing more logic and rationale and who is being emotional of the 2 of us.
Yes, thats exactly what I mean we had organized play tournaments with awakenings as prize support till this month! Starter decks sold old out a while but when the spirit kits arrived a big restock of starters hit. Around where I am I have had 0 supply issues, I am not ignorant to the shortage situation and I agree it was not a great way to kick off a game but I understand why it was this way.
Stop lashing out and spreading rumors, you listed like 10 games of which you were not knowledgeable thats not the way to get your point across or convince people.
My advice is lend them cards, teach people how to play, allow proxies until stock comes back in. The idea that you want to avoid the secondary market but use TCG/CCG as a talking point against this game is ridiculous yet I will still offer you a solution. Have your local game shop buy singles. Have players that have excess of cards or card they don't need sell back to the shop so people can buy singles from the shop and not do it online.
I think its both good and bad. Bad because we are in a drought (which is about to shift soon) but god that demand for the game is HIGH AF. I will also tell you what definitely is not good for the game and doesn't help it, your attitude on these forums. I question weather you like the game because you have come off as a whiney cry baby a lot. For all the points you just brought up in this response you don't apply to your own behavior, how is bashing FFG going to make people want to play destiny more? How is the complaints and attacks going to tell new players this is a game they should consider?

did you even read the roh-row thread? I played ccg's for 15 years and not once had the product been unable to get until now. there never been a game while I played that you could not walk in and buy a pack this I do know.

people don't want to play with other players decks they want there own, and I don't blame them and as far as loaning single cards that's out of the question since you can't get enough product to have a surplus cardpool. no game store is going to buy singles for a game that has no players in the area there not going to take that risk. your suggestions are unrealistic in this situation there needs to be packs and starters available to buy.
I think its both good and bad. Bad because we are in a drought (which is about to shift soon) but god that demand for the game is HIGH AF. so what's good for the game is to ignore the facts that you don't like and pretend everything is fine. I am not the one whining your the one who seems hurt that someone said something bad about ffg. I am not bashing anyone just calling a spade a spade.
answers in bold
Facts just called and they want their facts back. I also checked and in the rules it clearly states that one can not, should not and will not be allowed to pretend. Where it gets a little hazy is when it comes to imagination and until further notice we are asking for any and all to please retain from any and all things pretend and/or imaginary. This is not limited to ponies and unicorns and should include all mythological beast, animals, and all other species of other non worldly things (please make note we are checking to see if Bigfoot is included in this however at this time please consider it as it is along with those Sea Monkey`s I purchased from my comic books back in the day.).
*For easy reading all facts are in bold. You are most welcome.

And the word is smattering.
they didn't sort out their issues.
New England stores are reporting ~30% of preorders being sent to stores...in some cases MUCH less.
I love FFG but this is just bad business and I won't blindly support it because I like the game or the company.
Shrug, I live in a small town and wyoming, and while stock is limited, we are getting a decent amount. I was able to preorder 2 boxes, although I think I may just bump down to one and a handful(6) of boosters). I enjoy the game, but I don't think I'm willing to throw that much in, especially with the price. one box should bolster my collection well, and give me some good options. That and as long as I pull a Chewie, IG-88, Obi, or Shreev, I'm good... although I could really use a heavy evil blue, I'm lacking there..

To be fair, I wrote that before pre-order status was known and based my opinion off their press releases. I agree, optimism needs more caution in the light of current information.

This is based on their first shipment, though, from what I understand. There are more on the way.
Even though I had to spend about $300 on singles and $80 on starters from third parties just to get a couple of good decks together, I would still buy some awakenings boxes if I could get a hold of them to finish off 2 more decks with the extra cards I have. Or at the very least buy a Saga set from TC. I do like to have choices and collect. It is a shame that we can't simply collect for retail price. I would love to buy a SOR box or 2 on May 4th but it will probably be back to buying third party.
