Will we see a new FAQ at SOR release?

By Manzanita9, in Star Wars: Destiny

Ok I'm putting a positive guess on the table that FFG will hopefully release a FAQ update at the same time as SOR.

I'm guessing this because I know they are wanting this to be a balanced game competitively and right now the strength of Hyperloop (if it can get going), and the stall option of an infinite combo would be real bad tournament experiences.

On top of that this is when new players are getting into the game (right?), so we would want their first experiences to be veteran players using a wacky mechanic and never letting them see how robust this game is. A good FAQ with a few errata could nip that in the bud and provide some clarity to some of the new battlefield interactions.

On the other hand my friend cautions me that new releases in card games often have players finding the crazy aggro before they find the control counters.

It may be that the designers have already done an equally amazing job as they did in the first set and are having to painfully watch as we cry wolf when there are already great answers to the "problems".

Faq is a must already with all the ambiguous stuff that's coming with SoR - imagina the complexity of various combos in next releases.

They provided a release FAQ with Awakenings, no reason to expect they won't for SoR.

Oh good! Well that's one more thing to be excited for :)

If nothing else, we need an update to the Inherent Dice Ability list.

(Worst... Rule... Ever.)

"This die."

Problem solved.

Enough questions have been answered on Facebook that an updated RRG explaining a complicated queue example visually is a must.

I do not like it when rules queries and FAQs and the like are scattered around different forums. It makes tournament play frustrating as whenever a complex scenario happens there are shouts of 'play it this way' or 'this site says you win'. In some events I have been on the losing side of a questionable scenario twice, from both sides. It always seems to come down to who is asked to weigh in, and preference seems to be given to veterans...not that this game has any veterans.

It is too random. I would like to see a comprehensive rules update or FAQ that covers all questionable scenarios from set 1 up to current, released at set times each year. This growing document can then be the official rules companion for any competitive events.

As a side not to this rant, why the @%#$ do rule designers feel the need to make a host of specific rules if they are going to break those same rules with every 10th card.

They'd be smart to start building an Oracle analogue, but then future proofing their games has never been a strong suit of FFG's.
