Proposal denied.

You failed to deliver the proposal in triplicate, handwritten cursive script, dotting the 'i's with little lovehearts.

This isn't over, rules man.

No, no, you want Branson, Missouri. This is BRONSON.

I wonder if this quick release has more to do with Wave V's slow delivery, or that FFG has something big later in the year? That way people have time to buy how much of Wave VI they want and have money saved for whatever it is. I personally think the former is more likely.

Technically he is in the game as an officer. But I get what you mean. He needs to be a commander.

No he isn't.

?

Wave V was announced Aug 4, and I had product in my hand at my FLGS on Dec 23 - 4.5 months later. That isn't slow delivery at all (for a FFG painted miniatures game ayway). Wave II was announced April 6 2015 and took over seven months to become available.

Sorry. I was thinking Captain Needs. My bad. Bad memory and to lazy to go check.

I don't see the Venator across from the MC75 in a wave. I would expect something like Rebel One and the Venator. Two TCW designs that keep getting mileage even in early years of GCW.

Given when movies have come out, my expectation for the next wave is the Resurgent-class for the Empire (General Hux as the Commander) and MC75 for the Rebels (Admiral Raddus as its Commander).

I agree that we badly need Thrawn and Piett as Commanders - my money still on SWM20 being the Executor, with Piett, and FFG is still trying to figure out how to produce thing.

That leaves Thrawn, in....what? No idea. I could see him arriving in a Venator, though, with a Providence-class for the Rebels in the same wave, sure...but who would the Rebel Commander be?

Wave VI coming so quickly, though - that bodes well for finding out about wave VII and/or SWM20. (Heck, it's possible we might even see them teased during Star Wars Celebration, over the next few days...)

I'm relatively sure half the Imperial players won't be happy until Thrawn shows, costing -10 points to field with the special abilities of: Always goes first, choose the second players objective for him, and tap Thrawn to act as a fake activation. There will be people who complain that -10 points is still too much for his ability and that he's not that good, because and I future quote "yeah, but you can't choose how your enemy deploys, MAN, so it's not the REAL Thrawn."

Still hoping for a title that flips the Quasar to be a rebel ship. Whenever I hear people explaining that it isn't technically possible, I do the internet equivalent of sticking my fingers in my ears and go 'lalalalalala'.

They're wrong. It's perfectly possible because there is no order to how a list is made and it's legality is only checked in its entirety.

I will add that the advice I got from Mr. Gernes re: Squadron Additions in Corellian Conflict says the otherwise.

- But I fully admitted to myself that it was a cursory Email Response, and I've held off posting it in case the FAQ reverses it... Because a few things have already gone that way on the Corellian Conflict.

So still, neither of us are Right / Wrong yet. Its still debateable :D

How has the cc had things reversed if there is no FAQ?

I remember when the previews came out I made this effortpost about list building and even if you make multiple checks, the assumed order would be how their laid out in the book, and upgrades come before faction.

So neither of us are wrong yet, but I'm definitely right ;)

They will probably release an expansions pack with new ship cards to put the opposite faction on it. As they did with xwings scum and villiany. Ywings for scum. -> Quasar for rebels.

But I think a title card with the right wording can side step the fleet building rules for that title/ship. "Ignore rules x, y and z for this title and ship card." Instead choose this title and then the imperial light carrier card of your choice.

Am I making this to simple? I think its that easy but maybe I'm breaking the laws of the Armada universe and the Armada overseers will smite me with turbolaser fire for all eternity.

Why do people want a card to flip the Quasar rebel? Wouldnt you prefer a repainted model with lighter coloring and Sabine's rendering specifically for the rebels? If the rebels get the Quasarid much prefer that.

You're making it too complicated. If a card came out tomorrow that said "This ship is [rebel icon]" and had the Quasar Fire in the icon there wouldn't be an outcry about how it breaks the rules and could never be equipped. The meaning would be clear and the president of card overwriting rules would tell you to ignore any rules that would prevent it.
Logically, most people build their fleets by first choosing the faction. However, you don't have to. The rules don't tell how, they tell what.

Imperials are the overpowered, oversized, overstaffed, overbudget faction, we need more large ships. The rebels are the underpowered, undersized, understaffed, underdog faction, they make do, and are somehow successful with smaller ships.

For this reason the imps need more large ships, an ISD I (and subsequent title FAQs... If we ever get an FAQ that is...) release, a large based Venator, a large based Interdictor (the current one should have been large, so I'll take the modified ISD) and a Tector class are needed to bring the imps up to snuff.

The rebels need all their smaller but faster and more maneuverable ships in conjunction with their efficient and powerful fighter/bomber squadrons (with a hint of plot armor) backed up by their few, but incredibly well designed and built, Mon Cal ships, to be faction accurate.

That said, I'm looking forward to the new wave, I can't wait for Admiral Sloane!

Agreed. This is why I think they will be coming out with an expansion similar to the scum and villiany pack. I'm just saying it's not that hard to write a card that over rides a rule. They do it with plenty of them. But yes easiest way is a ship card itself.

Because I can paint?

And apologies for my direct response, but if other people can't paint then that hardly factors into my own preference.

Peace.

I have the dark foreboding Anakin gets when people are going to kill the man who can tell him about Darth plagueis. This could be a wonderful wave, or I have the funny suspicions it'll push the game farther in the dangerous directions its already going. Or FFG can do the great things it has done with Moffy J and Sloane and do great great things to push the game in a wholly unanticipated direction. We will see. Along with that MIA FAQ.

I'll just settle for more news on the Hammerhead and Quasar Fire. I need details! I need to figure out how many i'm gonna order!

2 and 1.
Or 2 and 2 if you're me, and you plan to break your first Quasar trying to light up those hanger bays.

I just want to know how much detailing that mold has for those hanger interiors? I dont imagine they will have it overly detailed like gantrys and scaffolding but I hope they at least leave the hanger control compartments at the back with the window.

I mean either way its a gorgeous model and I dont think a lack of such inconsequential details will be deteimental to that.
