New to scum, building my first list. 1xJumpmaster + 2xYwing

Title says it all. Im set on Jumpmaster + 2 ywings list. The 2 options i'm considering so far:

Dengar — JumpMaster 5000 33

OR

Kavil — Y-Wing 24
Veteran Instincts 1
Twin Laser Turret 6
Unhinged Astromech 1
Vectored Thrusters 2

Any advice?

Both lists are decent however the first one definitely packs some more punch, on the second one (or even the first) I'd recommend you use Attani Mindlink to boost your action economy amongst your named pilots, it's the same points as VI and on Y-Wings who don't have a lot of repositioning ability it's not entirely needed. The other advantage of Attani on these turreted ships is that the don't have to K-Turn as they have turrets, this further helps Attani Mindlink. Despite the most recent nerf Manaroo is still a viable option for a JM5000 pilot though now she requires some skill now and if you are new to the game she can be temperamental to fly.

TLDR: implement Atttani Mindlink for action economy as it works well with turrets.

Not new to the game, just to scums. Im an Imperial player but i decided to get a 2nd faction while waiting to see where my main one is going. Generic Ywings dont have EPTs so i would have to go for named ones on the first build. Do you think i could change something on the Jumpmaster to free the required points?

Also on the 2nd build, do you think mindlink is worth it even if it's only on 2 ships of the 3 ships? I thought about it but i figured my opponent would probably start the game by focusing fire on Kavil. Once hes down mindlink has no use on Tel.

Ideally the Jumpmaster would be replaced by Asajj but i dont have that xpac yet. I think the stress on the caster is a good way to protect the TLT bubble. Plus the Caster would probably be as survivable has Tel without sacrificing so much offense. Im just trying to get the best from what i have at the moment and be gentle on my poor wallet :)

Yeah mind link on only two ships is a pretty fragile bid especially in low agility ships. If you want to fly the JM5000 in a similar way to the asajj gunboat then you want to take punishing one title for damage and up your Ys to named pilots for attani, this closely mimics the action economy of The Paratanni build and the damage.

however you may want to consider running it to 2 time world champ Paul Hevers Paratanni list

Asajj Ventress (50) + PtL + Latts Razzi + Black Market Slicer Tools + Shadow Caster + Engine Upgrade
2x Syndicate Thug (25) + TLT + Unhinged Astromech

nothing super tricky and no mindlink however Asajj controls the field enough that the TLT's can always shoot/focus fire an enemy. The Jumpmaster cannot %100 mimic this however with a feedback array, PTL and 4-lom crew it can do some crazy damage on a single target, this in conjunction to 2 TLT rounds means most 1-2 agility small based ships will melt in a single turn (namely Miranda). Sometimes the best thing to do is not to try mimic a list that uses another ship but to see what can be done by only your ship and emphasize that. best of luck ^^

So replace Glitter on Dengar by Feedback and keep everything else the same? To put PTL, i would have to remove all astromechs (on Ys and Dengar). Would you advise me to do that? The Ys would be more sensitive to stress and Dengar wouldnt have any action economy...

PTL isn't entirely necesery as the JM5000 is far more manoeuvrable than the Asajj gunboat, keep the astromechs. The main point spend would be the punishing one title but the difference in pints between Assaj and dengar should help compensate that.
