I use BeyondPod and it got weird today. It downloaded the GreySkull, but it didn't find the actual episode. So, make sure you see the latest episode, too.

Already have it downloaded now. Grayskull showed up as most recent so it downloaded that one instead of the main episode

Loved "Grayskull" though I can't go to GenCon I am eagerly awaiting the release of the campaign for common use, any chance that we will get custom Xwing Pilots with unique abilities for the campaign?, do some use t-70s and others use a t-65? My friends and I would live to fly the characters, maybe they can buff the X-wings. I look forward to the next episode.

That's a cool idea. Personally, I don't know how the series ends! I haven't read the final episode. I'm not sure who lives or dies. I'll ask Babaganoosh / Phil to see if that's a possibility.

I will say that the event takes place in the Galactic Civl War, so no Resistance or First Order anything. That's not allowed in the event. None of the main characters, either (Luke, Vader, Emperor, Han, Chewbacca, droids). No TLT's, Tie Phantoms, or Royal Guard titles.

Oh, and in the last episode we recorded we talked about the round 1 missions. Not too much detail, but enough to get a feel for it.

Good to know, I plan on running this with some of my friends at our local game store, any chance we could get some custom pilot cards and abilities for our protagonists (just to add some flavour to the scenario) it would definitely give us a reason to field at least three X-Wings ^^

Well....any pilot that is unique is custom. You have to bid to see who gets the special characters. Each unique can only be used by one person and if they die, they are dead forever. You can only take a unique if you have a generic of that ship in your list, as well. So, you will be limited with how many uniques you can use and most will be generics.

Also, X-wings are pretty good in these missions! Everything is unique and the X-wing is an All Purpose ship. It's got a good dial, is fast enough, and has the firepower. You would be smart to take some X-wings. With limited aces and objectives to fulfill, you will probably find them good to use.

Quit telling everybody that! X-Wings were going to be my secret to success! Actually, the only problem I foresee with Rebels in general is the lack of generic pilots with EPTs. I've got most of a list figured out to have some flexibility, but I'm holding off the last fine tuning to see the formal rules. The unique droids are helpful in providing some interesting abilities, but for generics the simple R2 unit is great for the classic X-Wing and Y-Wing.

R5 is also a great astromech for anyone, as well, especially Y-wings. You can flip a critical hit that's a Ship one.

Totally agree. Much better on a Y-Wing than an X-Wing. Makes it so much tougher.

Here's something I don't understand with you guys. You complain A LOT about people "rules lawyering"(Or having a competitive mindset, like that itself is bad), even though the majority of the time that "Rules Lawyering" is for the purpose of finding (and closing) holes in the rules, rather than leaving them there to fester until suddenly someone who actually has intentions of using them brings it up on a big tournament.

Like it or not, unless the creators says otherwise Rules as Written is how a game should work. Sometimes it's easy to infer intent (R3-A2), sometimes it's not as obvious (Illicit Tokens and discarding Jabba), and even in the first example while it can easily be circumvented the creators should still put in an effort to fix obvious mistakes. Or would you rather have to have long rules arguments during a game instead?

But maybe I'm just a filthy "WAAC!" gamer who doesn't know what fun is :P

I guess what bugs me the most is when you can clearly see the intent about something. Most people agree it should be that way, but there is always that ONE GUY that wants to make a stink about how it just doesn't fit into the rules. Take Darth Vader and the X1 title, for example. It's clearly meant to work on Vader, but the ship is named differently. Some people would not allow Vader to take the X1 until FFG FAQ'ed it. That's what gets me.

I'm all for clear rules, and I'm all for people pointing out ahead of time and publicly when rules can be misinterpreted for advantage, so that the situation can be brought to the designers attention for FAQing. I generally don't consider that activity 'rules lawyering'. Whenever I say rules lawyer(ing), I'm talking about people who actually try to take advantage of those ambiguous wordings, etc. It's not something that I've actually seen happen in an X-wing game, but I have seen in other game systems *cough*40K*cough*.

Guess I wasn't around for that particular stint. Any rules discussion I've seen here where the intent was obvious (R3-A2 being a good example), anyone who argued how it based on RAW would work also said they thought it needed to be changed and wouldn't play it that way because the intent was obvious, and people were jumping down their throats for even mentioning it...

Well, starting back in Wave 1 and up till now, there have been plenty of common sense situations where there were people who refused to play it the way it was obviously meant to be and would argue for pages on these very forums about how RAW were iron clad. All of these situations were eventually FAQ'ed, but there were many arguments about it on these forums and in game stores.
