Yet another X-Wing "fix" (feel free to scroll past)

It's not enough to just outflank him - you have to outflank him so much to actually get into the "rear half" of his ship.

Wrong. Just out of his arc.

This only works for the front 90.

Read the Reinforce card: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2017/3/15/independent-operations/

Also the "Wookie Wagon" can reinforce the aft. This can't.

And if you split your forces into a pincer movement he'd be a piece of piss to take down.

Okay, my bad, I though it defends front/rear of the ship by default for small ships.

It is indeed making it more likely to bypass the reinforce. But if I would be the one to make the call, I would still go with maneuvrability/firepower boost. And there is so many good ideas how to do it (linked lasers that always deals 1 shield damage even when shot is a miss, free boost/barrels actions after certain maneuvers, double side title for shooting/maneuvering etc) I am just personally not impressed with yours. I am not saying it's bad or anything (it's actually very thematic and cool) but it just doesnt cope with the current state of T-65 (making overwhelming, tanky pilot even more tanky, while doing not a lot to fix aces).

Essentially it is a better (works at range 2) but harder to pull off (needs 2 enemy ships) than the Concord Dawn title.

But aces wise... This, Pred/Expertise and Vectored Thrusters on Wes, Wedge or Luke? I think that's fairly fixed.

Opens a lot more options when you don't have to take IA.

I get that. I am sure 10% of rebel players would actually use it like that.

90% would just take Biggs, being even a bigger pain in the ass. And we definitely dont need that!

Really it's a high risk/high reward scenario. Yes you can get him into R1-2 and have it trigger and you're laughing.

But there's a reason (beyond the extra die) that you want to keep his distance. It's easier to stay in your opponents arc for one, and most secondaries don't work up close.

If you put a PS5 in the thick of it it's going to be quite easy not just for you opponent to arc dodge you so you can't benefit from the reinforce, but you're also running the risk of them being able to skip you entirely and shoot the ship you're trying to protect with Biggs.

Personally I think that balances it out. You're right it would be very different if it was a 180 reinforce. But it's going to take a very good player (or a very poor opponent) to let a mid PS ship with predictable movements (he wants to be at R1 of his mates after all) to allow that to trigger too often.

Interesting. I was the original one who posted the Reinforce action as a fix Months ago way before the Astuge(Whatever it is called).

Make it a double sided card,

Xwings Only: 0 points. Title.

First side: Put your deflectors on double front: Add a reinforce token to your front arc, however when shot outside of your front arc ignore shields. After the combat phase you may flip this card.

2nd Side: Shields Up: No bonus. After the combat phase you may flip this card.
