Reminds me that I wanted to do a "Who on the forum was born before Episode IV?" thread...

I suspect it is a small number...

Oh and Captain Rose, welcome to the "winning" side.

I was born before A New Hope, I also do a lot of RP games, and other board games, and many many PC/Console games, with grand strategy games being a big favorite, and man have I seen some changes over the decades <gulp> nothing hits home like typing a sentence out like that :( Kids these days! no lugging your entire desktop over to a mates house(Including the ginormous monitor), and then spending half the day getting them dang things to recognise one another over a LAN network before you can even play anything. Going to a phone box to make a call, even better actually having to physically leave your home and go to the local library to get real books to do your homework! big big changes.

Not much to add other than, welcome to the community Cpt Rose, glad to see you're starting with the Imperials, give them Rebel scum a good kicking.

Having titles on the forum would be cool relating to that. "Veteran Fleet Admiral", "Junior Imperial Officer", "Rebel Grandmaster General", "Junior Y-wing pilot", "TIE apprentice".

EDIT: On a second thought, it looks like I'm saying "Hey, you're old!" Please don't take it like that, I have the purest of intentions

I used to have "Not a Rules-Guru"

Let's be honest, you kinda are

But imagine having the title and the title badge with the number of posts and the reputation!! It would be so cool

Yes, I was born before Episode IV, or Star Wars as it was known at the time. My parents thought I was too young to watch it though, so I didn't see A New Hope until its first rerelease in 1979. My older brother, on the other hand, saw it 13 times the summer of '77. But that was when you could ride around on your bike all day doing whatever as long as you were home in time for dinner.

I do remember bringing my Luke Skywalker action figure with the extendable lightsaber to kindergarten, and the Christmas in 1980 where my brother and I got a couple of Snow Trooper action figures, Slave I, the Echo Base Rebel play set with Probot and the AT-AT. We threw down a bunch of white blankets and recreated the opening scene from Empire Strikes Back with absolutely every Star Wars toy we owned. My dad thought it was so cool he took a bunch of pictures and had them developed (yep, actual film developing with a real camera).

My fondest memory has to be when we got a new refrigerator and my dad, who was really a kid at heart and never met a roll of duct tape he didn't love, transformed the big refrigerator box into an X-Wing Fighter. It lived in our kitchen for 2 weeks until my mom couldn't take it anymore. Oh man, we destroyed the Death Star so many times...

But I digress. I'm here trying to help Captain Rose with her dreams of commanding an Interdictor, and I would've gotten away with it too if it weren't for you meddling kids! Now git off my lawn!

The feeling of growing up with Star Wars is amazing, mine was during the prequels, and I ABSOLUTELY LOVED playing with lightsabers, so much that my brother and I were full on realistic, so I got a fully broken nail (everything came out) once. Star Wars is just so wonderful to grow up with, as a child it's more about the action and the visual of the characters, and as you grow you start to see all the rest it has to offer.

I'm getting to emotional and offtopic, welcome aboard Captain Rose, sorry for using so much of your thread :P

You have all shared some AMAZING info and I deeply appreciate it. I'm looking to get some games in at "Card Kingdom" in Ballard/Lynnwood here in Washington tomorrow 4-13-2017. Taking X-wing too. I am hoping to pick up either one or both of the Imp fighter packs and/or another Arquetins or 2. I am going to attempt to try some of the shared builds here as best I can.

And to add to the "God we're all so old and ancient" conversation. I'm 3 months older than Return of the Jedi :P

I think I am the youngest person on the forums... a bit less than 7 months older than attack of the clones

Poster, perhaps. But not 'on'.

My 3 year old already has his own account.

(He was randomly clicking and went to log in, so I helped him out).

You could say "Youngest Legal".

As the terms of conditions state you have to be 13, and clearly, he is not, and thus, he has not used his account. (It is not permitted for him to use it)

One month younger than RoJ :P you're going into the retirement home before I do :D

Welcome too; these guys are grand assisting in moving from the hangar to the bridge....X-Wing is fun, but Armada is fun with layers, like a parfait. Plus, the overarching bend of the game isn't like it is in X-Wing; and that's very cool.

...relax, and leave those X-Wing mechanics and rules in the hangar, they don't apply up here.

Hmm i must be one of the oldest peeps on the forums. Get off my lawn you crazy kids! :D
