X-Wing is 100% "board game" that happens to also use miniatures. As I always have said if you take away the minis the game may not look as pretty and loses some curb appeal but the actual game play doesn't change one bit.

For me, it would lose so much appeal I wouldn't buy it. It's a miniatures game. I hate the cardboard so much i made 3d asteroids so it would look great on the star mat. Shoot, if you have any doubt, miniatures in the title!

I have to pay 3 USD dollars to play at my local game store, ON top of having to buy the minatures, so needless to say, I pretty much stoped X-Wing, I did buy a few armada sets but thats so far mainly to paint and put on a shelf.

Used to pay full price for somethings, but others i tried to get cheaper, espcially since i was playing catchup. But with nothing really in the recent waves i care about, espcially this one with the stupid wookie and yet ONE MORE TIE....screw it. If they released the Blastboat, or something that wasnt a tie fighter for empire, sure, its not like the only ships imperials used were ties. As far as the rebels, there are a TON of options yet not explored, considering they have the Arc-170 implemented. What they need to do is release cross faction ships. Good example would have been the Arc-170, but they might as well do it with the Nimbus V-Wing for rebel and empire and maybe the Skipray Blast boat for Scum and Empire.

And make the generics worth fielding so we can spam them.

But again, need to fix the price points for the fans who arnt warhammer 40k rich and actually have real jobs and bills....
