Ill narrate the failure as soon as I figure out how to fix it, does this destroy the mod? Prevent future mods? Or did it just eat up time?

Also did all those advantages and triumphs from earlier... Could I have spent those on practice makes perfect or something to have made the roll easier?

WOW... :o  All those dice and that??? LOL I guess it broke but we can always both chip in to go buy Astrid another attachment and try again. & the 5 Advantage MUST count for something. I mean, it HAS to!

Still... BUMMER.

And I used all of your rolls from earlier for all of my pieces of equipment. I promise that I made good use of each of them. You'll be proud once I move my character to SW Sheets and figure out how to add Blue Dice etc to my weapon stuff now.

I may be confused about how the attachments/ mods work...

I was under the impression that simply installing the scope required a mechanics check. Upon further reading, maybe it is just further mods that require it?

The Telescopic Optical Sight is listed as having Modification Options: None.

Well phew!!

But the question still stands for @April ... Can I spend any of the advantages and triumphs from previous rolls on anything or is that not available for mod rolls?

Sorry for the confusion...

Am I correct in my current understanding, that anyone can install an attachment, without a roll; only modding an attachment requires a check?

Ill look it up shortly...

@April

Are you ok? We haven't heard from you and we're getting worried about our DM. Is that why the Acolyte called? To tell us he kidnapped you?

Hope you're doing well and that you're still happy and safe in Corellia...

Warmest Regards,

Your crew....

(Ooc was at hospital sorry for delays)

In all seriousness, we hope all is well with you and yours.

You're just in time, too! Left to our own devices, the situation was about to degenerate into finding companionship for Zyi and Durak...

it feels like an ice cream headache just listening to it.

I experienced my first "brain freeze" in years, over the weekend, so I'm acutely aware of just how uncomfortable it feels.

"Didn't we just leave Imo Kul back at the Banking Center with Mr. Zando?

I thought we had Crumbleberry, who is with us now. Didn't we see Kul in the recent Flerbos footage?

I thought we left him with spider people...

P.S. Hope things are ok April! Let us know if you'd like us to stop hounding you for your good stories for a bit if you need time to deal with RL.

In character, I'm not sure Astrid has any awareness of the alien spider presence- but she would certainly be interested.

So I think we can dock, I'm just making small talk until then

Ready to dock, upon arrival.

I will try to pull up some maps of the mall area.

I'm going to copy this here, as your opinions are more important in this matter:

I began playing recently, filling a niche in an existing party, which is comprised almost entirely of force-users (to one degree or another). My character is an Archaeologist, and I enjoy the role I play, but if I am being completely honest with myself... there is at least a bit of Force-envy present.

As stated, I like playing this character, so no regrets- I'm just considering the Force-sensitive options alongside others also in consideration (Big-Game Hunter, Trader, etc). I think I can play it out in the narrative, and Force-use is not as rare in this campaign as it may be in many... but it still feels like somewhat of a cop-out.

Thoughts? Examples? Did you sully your character concept, by slapping Force-sensitivity on as an afterthought, and live to regret the decision?

Thanks.

You can always add the Force Emergent spec. Studying the Force and being around force users can trigger latent force sensitivity. But the Force powers (move and such) would require teaching.

I posted my opinion in the original thread. I'll add if you do go forcie, get with April to rp a good reason. She also mentioned limiting force usage at the beginning don't know if that got tossed out though.

I was thinking Emergent or Exile might be a decent fit for Astrid; Seek and Enhance Powers, if available.

I was also thinking that if some latent Force sensitivity is going to manifest, the sooner it happens, the less contrived it will seem.

I am not sold on this course of action, and of course I will defer to @April 's judgement.

Obviously, I feel like I may be cheapening the experience by taking this route, or I would not have posted.

Thanks for the input! That's why I was asking.

Also taking a hard look at the Analyst spec, which offers more ranks in research/ knowledge, but also new talents:

  • Valuable Facts- add triumph to an ally's skill check
  • Supporting Evidence- add advantage to an ally's Charm/Deception/Leadership/Negotiation check
  • Improved Researcher-party gains automatic advantage acting upon info
  • Thorough Assessment- gain boost dice to be used by the party
  • Stroke of Genius- substitute Intellect when making a skill check

I like the idea that the information gleaned through Astrid's academic talents can produce tangible results in the party's dice pools.

I really overlooked the anylist spec, but when trying to figure out my next spec (which I just kicked down the road and still have no idea!!!), I seriously considered it, it's really good in my opinion for a knowledge character with some added perks!

I'm assuming worra is gone, so should we open up one slot and recruit?

I reached out last week via PM, and received this response Monday:

Thanks! I am gonna get back into it today and tomorrow. Last two weeks have been crazy! My final exam is today so I should be good soon.

No further sign of Worra, yet, though... @aclarkbr90 ?

Ok, lets wait then andd see if worra rerturns, perhaps he'll flip a destiny point and arrive with the calvery when **** hits the fan.

I REALLY need to follow this thread more... *Sigh*

Please just ding me when you guys start posting in this thread since I don't usually remember to look at it. Ahhh, Finals... :) Glad Worra's almost finished for the semester and look forward to having him back.

Also, @Edgehawk I absolutely think Star Wars and using the Force go hand in hand so I'm all for you jumping into it. I still say that having Sar Agorn as a resource is the perfect justification to begin using the Force. He's a great teacher and is Yorik's source for learning as well. Also, after learning more about the Grey Jedi, I believe that's what Episode VIII will be about... which will be supremely cool.

Seek & Enhance powers are fantastic and I can definitely see Astrid pursuing those if she chooses. Based on my ongoing conversations with Sar Agorn, I intend to develop Yorik's Sense powers based on all the Telepathic interaction he's been having.

Triplicate post?!
