WHOA, Shard... We're about to undertake another Mission for the Banking Cartel and go more in depth against Lord Insanire or another Hutt and you really want to jump ship and go rogue for this one guy? He probably broke all kinds of protocol by telling us who he is... Or, maybe this is just another Test of the Banking Cartel. Remember, the first couple before we even departed? Please give this a chance to play out because we don't have all the variables yet, and we don't want to self destruct before we have a chance to do some Good in the Galaxy...

I'll let it play out a bit of course!

Glad to hear it! :) I'm also hoping I don't jinx us when I say that surprisingly, "I've got a Good Feeling about all of this..." Maybe it's because we completed our 1st Mission and I'm looking forward to the 2nd one. April does Horror very well as well as setting up multiple storylines and plot points. Also, you guys are FANTASTIC writers as well so this story has truly come together in a very fine fashion as far as I'm concerned. It's my 1st PbP and I'm having a blast!

This is my first PbP as well, and as far as I'm concerned, I am extremely fortunate to have lucked into this particular game. Thank you, all, and let's keep it going!

So the only thing I'll add is let's really wait for all parties to check in here before moving the story forward....

I'm in!

ROFLMAO!!!! I'm laughing so hard right now... LOL FINALLY! Durrak comes through... Just BARELY... :) & he even added a purple! LOL :)

Oh shoot he should be able to subtract the lesser purple at gm discretion...

This story would make a great comic series...

IT's the GM in me. I like to make things more difficult!

I'm thinking the deception roll might be to pierce the Muun's flimsy Republic Intelligence legend, and recognize it as a trap.

Edit: Sorry to leave you with that nagging bit of paranoia last night... I was tired. I had forgotten that April made a parenthetical statement, specifically declaring that the roll was to save Crumbleberry.

Clearer thinking after my caf

Hmmm

So just to be clear about the earlier discussion (even though hopefully the last roll saved us), as a player I doubt wanna rogue out to save this guy, as a character shard would. So as fellow players I'm giving you a heads up, your welcome to prevent that sort of action.

Also I'm bad at book keeping what's our total for credits and xp?

OK. So, you'd save Lord Crumbleberry because you don't want to see him get dissected, or because you don't want him to be imprisoned at all? I'm just asking now so I'll understand your motivations more in the future and act accordingly.

FYI, Yorik is all about completing a mission once he's agreed to it. Then, he's all about keeping his crewmates alive. Outside of that, he tries to help civilians and colonists whenever possible but not much after they've attacked him. That's why he's so ambivalent toward Crumbleberry...

He HATES the First Order and Hutts. He'd prefer to work with the Banking Cartels since they have the most money and they tend to be more orderly than the typical Nar Shadaa lifestyler... which he doesn't usually enjoy.

As far as our XP goes we've only got the 20 xp from completing this first mission. As far as credits... We have 13,200 (8,000 from the Republic secret agent and 5,200 from finishing our job for Mr. Zando) plus we might have another bit of money coming from the artifacts that Eldrith retrieved on New Taris (with GM's help)... or we might donate those back to the Temple. We can let Dr. Andunie properly appraise them since artifacts are her thing... and then see if we can sell them, trade them, or donate them...

@April : I have not added any credits to my sheet, yet, because I'm not certain if Astrid is paid differently? For simplicity's sake, we could treat the Obligation as loyalty, availability on retainer, and her payments would be the same as the rest of the party?

Otherwise, I could see a stipend for expenses, but otherwise she would be working-off her tuition for the foreseeable future. Astrid is not highly motivated by financial gain, but I would like to be able to keep track of her credits.

I guess you would be paid a flat fee, but because of fairness everybody gets the same amount okay?

Sounds good! 13,200! :) Take it and RUN! Quick jump on the Hind and let's go before the DM gets all EVIL and HORRIFIC again!

*sigh* I spoke too soon. I just realized... We need a plan for this. and gear. (Looks to Shard to help optimize everyone)

OK, I'll send the rest of this IC

evil and horrific.... you realize that was kinda tame ?.... how you guys will react too later stuff I have no clue.

Bring some kind of submission collar for a big creature maybe?...

So shard was sold into slavery by the empire... So he doesn't like them, he was sold to a hutt, he doesn't like them... He escaped and lived as a street urchin kid on Nar Shadda, found a recaptured, then escaped again. He has been a slave used as a "living computer" to slice for the Hutts, and as an experiment of Grand Moff Tarkin's super weapon program. He's been a bum, a thief, very desperate. He worked his way up by bring being forced into doing things unsavoury and often against his morality. He spent time in a rebel cell and learned an ethical and philosophic framework, self worth and propose. Now that he has that he doesn't relinquish it easily. It's now worth more then his life. Think Malcolm x, street kid who with nothing to loose learning he is part of something bigger. Spartacus is another example.

He's used to his life, and life in general as being cheap, death has come and gone easily in his life. He's not used to giving his life much worth. Think of a gang member willing to loose his life over "respect". Until recently he's never been able to look towards the future with anything but anxiety.... He is surprised he's still alive.

Even though he got a bigger picture from the rebel cell, he's hasn't totally escaped looking at things like a rebellious slave, kill the master first, worry about consequences later.

As far as our noble is concerned, well he wouldn't blink twice if the poor folk of New Taris strung him up for fleecing their pockets... However if he views him as a petty fool from a Podunk planet getting sacrificed too the banks for a paycheck, and more so that Zyi was being used in this scheme, well that's when he wile ' out and goes **** these mother fuckers!!

Does that explain his motivations better?

I'm quite happy to have gone down the party going rogue angle. But getting out of the city would have been end game type combat stuff.

could all the players say in this thread they are ready to go?

Don't worry, I'm sure we'll get second chances at it!!

I'm ready! I gotta figure out my expenses... Are we doing this as buying through Zando? The republic? On our own etc.?

Just use prices in the rulebooks, I take it your buying them on Muun?, if you could please let me know what you take and from where.

Nothing blackmarket unless you give me a compelling reason why

How would you handle material that might make the equivalent to restricted items? Thinking probably either a droid chassis, or cybernetic implant.

It would depend on what the item is and why. You have quite a few droids between you, plus the one on the ship. if your upgrading something fine, We can always say you found the Material in a local junk yard. but id like to limit people Buying a droid and then using it as a proxy character.

Yes upgrading Aye. For cybernetics probably crafting a leg or arm w/brawn+1 ...
