Can't really say I'm surprised - on the surface, it seems like a slightly different take on X-Wing, but in reality it's a LOT deeper and a LOT harder to 'get good at' (and, so, correspondingly more rewarding to do so). But that does make it much harder to get folks into. Especially when X-Wing is right there , and so pretty, and so accessible...

I like the idea or Armada, I just hate the bases and fiddly components/dials. They just detract from the game too much for my tastes.

Why would someone ask about something that only exists in people's heads. Heroes of the Resistance WAS the Rebel Veterans to counter Imperial Veterans.

Which is why it's named differently, was marketed differently, contained nothing that could be considered a 'fix' to either ship and was sold as a differant price point.

It's supposed to be really good. It could be for all I know. I also know I'll never buy into it without minis. I like the visual aspect of X-wing.

Sooooo, Integrated Astromech, Primed Thrusters or Pattern Analyzer doesn't "fix" anything for the T-65 or T-70? I am sorry, I have to declare BS on that statement.
The TIE Shuttle title doesn't fix anything for the Bomber, but it gives you another way to use it. Sure, the Defender titles did bring them back to the competitive tables. But you cannot say those three upgrades in Heroes of the Resistance did not help the X-Wing.

Plus, it is the first of the "aces" pack to have a big ship, why on earth would they sell if for $30? That would make no sense to me.

Well **** em, its been years since they said they were gonna give the T-65 another boost, and we've got **** all. And in it's place we've had two of the most turgid boring metas the game has ever seen.
