Gear, Vehicles, or Weapons you want to see?

By Ebak, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

I just thought of something I'd really like to see:

Portable Tractor Beam / Repulsor

Basically the gravity gun from Half Life 2, but it feels like this would exist in the Star Wars universe, since Tractor Beams and Repulsors exist. Allows you to grab things up to Sil 1 at short or maybe medium range, and pull them toward you, or throw them as per the Move rules. Could also be used to ensnare people with a check opposed by their athletics or resilience and move them around.

I feel like someone in the Star Wars universe must have had the idea that it would be super useful to make a tool that lets you grab things from across the room for cargo handling and such. This tool would come in handy in so many situations in the game.

Star Wars already has a weapon filling that niche: Jedi.

I'm pretty sure I've seen such a thing in Saga Edition. So it sort of exists in Legends, for what it's worth.

So a Silhouette 1 Creature has Encumberance of 5+2 Brawn (so 7 for Human).

Weapon Mount Armor Attachment is 4 Enc.

So a Chadra-Fan is Sil 0, Brawn 1. So encumberance would be 2-3+1 Encumberance. FITS! And because you what it for the force powers, ranged (Light/heavy) discriptor fits also. Now you have your gravity gun!

A Tactical tractor beam projector was a personal grade tractor beam projector.

Functioning on similar principle to a tensor rifle , the tactical tractor beam projector was a handheld personal tractor beam projector emitter, and was capable of manipulating objects several meters in diameter. Consisting of a hollow tube, the tactical tractor beam emitted a crackling stream of energy that encompassed the target in a electromagnetic vise - much like normal tractor beams - from dozens of meters away. Nice, see I knew I couldn't have been the first person to ever think of that.

I'd really like to see this added, because the notion that only Jedi can move stuff around has always rubbed me wrong in a setting where very obviously there is gravity manipulation technology.

Capes. How come we don't have stats for capes yet?

There could e.g. be a blue cape, which adds auto-advantage to charm and deception rolls. ;)

Or a black cape, which lets you use the bind power over a holo-transmission-screen.

Or a white cape, which generates three auto-threat to whatever roll you're trying to make. :(

Yet, I can't find any capes in my books.... Clearly this is a huge oversight by FFG. Or maybe they are planning to release a source book specifically for capes?

My your capes be with you!

Fred

I just want to see a separate series of Books for various other Eras; Clone Wars, Rebels, Rogue One, First Order and whatever lay between Eps. 6 and 7.

Aliens, Weapons, Armor, Gear, Ships, Droids...etc...

The one to the right does, to me at least, seem to include a cape.

I've (seriously) separated clothing into high, middle, and low class. Middle doesn't have any modifiers. High gives 1 Bonus in high society social interactions, but 1 Setback in low society interactions. Low class clothing or appearance gives the opposite.

There's no single weapon or piece of equipment I'd want to see specifically, but I'd really love it if they did a re-vamp of WEG's old "Cracken's Rebel Field Guide" book. That thing was just a treasure trove of weird modifications, jury-rigged equipment and other things that invariably turned out to be very useful for a resource-starved team of Rebels in the field. No need to bring your own explosives when you can jam a negative power coupler into a positive flow detonator? And who doesn't need some rules for duct-taping some power packs together and using them as a grenade?

I want stuff from Rogue One. The AT-ACT, cargo tank, U-wing, TIE Striker, Hammerhead, Occupier Combat Assault Tank A-180 pistol, Zeta Class cargo shuttle, Combat Tank Driver armor, Baze's Heavy Repeater Cannon, maybe Death Trooper armor and/or their frag grenades too, if there's something special about them.

A lot of these would fit right in with the Engineer book.

I'd love to see a Clone Wars book with all the equipment from that time period. I've mocked up a lot of custom stats for those ships, but I'd prefer RAW versions, if possible.
