I've seen it ;)

There are alt art cards for the 2 heros and a new deployment card that I don't recall having seen before. (There is likely also a special mission but I didn't see it if it is in there)

So this Launch Kit/Escalation Kit are just cards? That's bit lame :/

Alt-art. cards are perfect for cards games, but for minis game... could do better

Never say ever, I guess, but I sent them an email asking about it and they replied that they had been cleared to send the preorders out to arrive at thursday. I understood it as they having it in stock but waiting until probably tomorrow before shipping.

Guess we will ahve to wait and see but it would be sad if if doesnt arrive on thursday, having to wait almost a week for next weekday :/

Just got off the phone with the Alphaspel guys. They said they got the delivery yesterday and will be sending it out tomorrow, so unless you live in the farthest northern reaches of Sweden, you should get it on Thursday. Great Success!

Get used to it. This is normal for ffg organized play events. Acrylic tokens and alt art cards. Sometimes steel Coins.

I know ffg op kits, those are ok for card games... end to be honest even card games were getting acrylic tokens, as you said. For minis game - and for launch kit of the game they are about to invest a lot of effort to make it a success - I was really expecting something superior... I know exclusive fig would be too much to expect, but maybe acrilic runes? maybe some kind of exclusive card board terain piece? maybe exclusive upgrade?... but JUST alt arts unit card and deployment card? Not cool at all FFG.

I mean... They could do what most companies do and provide nothing .

Would that be an improvement?

I'm fine with taking my alt art cards.

This isn't even a competitive event kit, it's a swag bag for everyone who bought the game and they charge like a third what they do for regular tourney kits.

FFG knows what happens when you provide too many OP exclusives. They're being smart. Wizkids poisons their games with OP exclusives. People who miss out suffer for it, the secondary market is ugly, and the kind of competition it promotes is repulsive. And I mean absolutely repulsive.

OP-exclusive upgrades were the death of Attack Wing.

OP exclusives suck. Should be fun stuff for collectors but nothing game changing for those who can't make it. Don't toss in junk that changes the game state I can't access other than at an event. Coins/medals/alt art/tokens, all nice.

Ffg knows what they are doing. These will be exclusive but that is the trend for them. Other than that they just do Alternate Arts and tokens typically. Oh and dice and templates for regional and store champs

Well you could always do a alternate sculpt for a mini as a prize, nothing game changing but a nice reward. Like Kari using her ranged weapon.

Many wargames have some form of exclusiv minis, be they pre order minis or GenCon exclusives or what ever, and normaly they are not game changing if they are not just an alternate sculpt and if I remember correctly most of Privateer Press Gencon exclusives were just "normal" minis but showing them while drinking beer or protecting a keg of beer or stuff like that.

But FFG doesn't roll that way, they go with the other prize support options.

the PP exclusives weren't prizes, just Gen Con only models you could buy at the show or online. They were exclusives, sure, but not event exclusives.

Gamechanging exclusives suck. This is a fact.

But c'on just cards for a kick-of for minis game? Ffg is doing much better with regular quarterly kits tor card games. Wouldn't you enjoy nice acrylic runes to toss before your battles? Ffg recently did greate tokens for SW:Destiny... where's a will there's a way :)

Tokens come in Game kits. Releases get cards. This is their trend.

I know PP minis were GenCon exclusive I even wrote that, but I do also know that Corvus Belli does alternate sculpts for their torunament kits. And I just said that this was a possibilty for something more extravgant than alternate cards and that exclusiv/limited miniatures are nothing new to miniature wargaming and most of them are just alternate sculpts or something like and not overpowered stuff.

And most if not all of GW/FWs show exclusive/limited miniatures are also just alternate sculpts and many of the are Space Marines.

I confirm I am ready to receive my copies!

Energy tokens are about the only component I *don't* want in acrylic. Made a set out of bone, and they're nice and dense/heavy. Perfect for rolling.

I hear ya. I don't know that FFG's planning can allow for them to create a few alts that way though. CB and PP are metal LE sculpts, so they're easier and cheaper to make. Generating a plastic mold for a few event kits...not as cost-effective as we'd want it to be.

Didn't think about the that, might check if GWs limited minis these days are plastic or resin.

Yup. Plastic can run 5,000+ just to get started. For a single fun sculpt it is not cost effective

Like their new LE print runs of old figs? I believe it's either metals or finecrap. Not plastics.

seconded on the Etsy. Where can I get these? I played one game so far and don't like the feel of the cardboards.

I've seen those on Facebook... nice work! I will try to make a set like that for myself :-) what kind of bone have you used for that?

Did you etch those symbols? And where did you get the polished bone chips from?
