Options for an undefined meta next weekend

By Jturn314, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I have a tournament on Saturday and I'd like to hear your thoughts on a couple lists. None of the people I'm expecting to see there are "net-listers" and don't follow the competitive meta closely at all, but they're all effective pilots who find neat synergies between their ships that are usually pretty effective in a lower tier group. Anyways, here's my lists-

Rebels-

-Norra: Title, PtL, R2D2, Tail Gunner

-Biggs- R2 Astro, Integrated Astro

-Warden- Sabine, EM, Thermals, Conner Nets, Adv Slam

Imperials-

-Omega Leader- Juke, Comms Relay

-Inquisitor- PtL, Title, Autothrusters, Prockets

-Vessery- VI, Tie/D, Tractor Beam, Twin Ion Engines

I have a few games of experience with the rebel list, and a ton of experience with Omega and Inq, but almost zero with Vessery. I love the target lock synergy in the imperial list, and I love the bombing aspect and the Norra/Biggs duo of the rebel list. Which do you think might fare better in completely unpredictable airspace? Any thoughts and input you have is greatly appreciated.

The imperial build is very effective build. All PS 8 and 2 point for initiative bid is great. I would personally lose the prockets on the inquisitor and put stealth device on Omega for better suviability, but your version is also great.

I do not understand your rebel build. Its too easy to focus down your K-wing, because as a bommer, it has to fly close to the targets and will you then use Biggs to protect it? Norra is not interested in flying close to a lot of ships. A lot of range one shots is what she do not want. So Biggs can only protect either Norra or the K and your enemy will quickly destroy the other. Its like trying to mix oil and water. If your opponents are any good they will rip your fleet apart

I also love how Vessery's tractor beam makes the target even more susceptible to OL and INQ.

In the rebel squad, in my experience, as long as you don't straight up joust from the get-go you should be ok. Biggs and Nora should most often make the first approach, with the K coming in the next turn to slow the opponent's return, giving the other two time to line up again. Sometimes, Biggs might stay with the K wing if there's a high agility ace that would easier due to bombs than shots. It just depends on the matchup. I've flown it a handful of times and it's actually not as the big of an issue in my opinion.

Ok mabey I should give it a try then :)

The Biggs list will be solid, the simp list will be fun and exciting. My 2 cents ?
