Maz Ability

By KifaruMan, in Star Wars: Destiny

Quick question:

Maz's ability - "After you activate this character, you may resolve up to 2 of your dice"

Can I use the ability to resolve a 1 ranged and a +2 ranged modifier? Or does the ability resolve one at a time (effectively resolving the 1 ranged before the modifier, leaving the modifier alone)?

Thanks for the help

You can do a modifier as well.

Technically yes, I suppose.

"A player cannot use modifiers when resolving a die through a card effect, unless the card allows them to resolve multiple dice of the same symbol."

Maz allows you to resolve two (see: multiple) dice, so assuming that they're both the same symbol then it appears to be a legal interaction.

Should work.

So if ERey and EMaz are teamed up and Rey has rolled in her discard and a melee damage , then Maz rolls in a blank and a focus . Her ability with resolving two dice : focus ( 1st die used ) Reys melee into discard and then for 2nd die resolve the discards together as that would be three ... I assume you cannot do that .

No as that would be resolving 3 dice.

Yeah, you have to spend a real action to resolve multiple dice of the same type. Maz is just any two dice, in order.

hm, that's interesting. do heroes have any generic + side dice like Lure of Power?

would a side like that not be able to be resolved with Maz's ability?

Heroes don't have generic modifiers like Lure of Power yet, and I'm unsure if they will (it seems to be Lure of Power's unique gimmick). Theoretically speaking though, Lure of Power could still be resolved with Maz actually, because the ability on the card says that Lure of Power can be used to modify any dice result. The other interesting thing is that Maz can actually resolve three dice if Luminara Unduli rolled a special into the pool, because Luminara's special resolves yet another dice.

Maz is definitely one of the more confusing abilities in the game, which is funny because her ability seems so simple on the surface. She's kind of like C-3PO that way!
