So I wanted the ask the community to combat a list type I've been facing recently.

average type of list:

- 1 tanky ISD

- 1 VSD with a focus on black die (usually able to roll 6 black out the front) and manouverability

- 1 support ship of some kind, in the small base range, example Arquitens

- dengar

- howlrunner

- a decimator or 2

- 6 or so TIE fighters

- Motti as commander

* flown in close formation from the corner or centre of the matt straight at enemy

so I've tried a MSU fleet against this- it didn't work due to simply not being able to produce enough damage in a round against one target

ive also tried a fleet with ackbar MC80H and other hard flankers against it, also didn't work (hahahaha, when you roll 10 dice and you get a total damage of 4, braced down to 2, then redirected to a different hull zone 3 turns in a row)

So what sort of list would you guys bring to battle against this sort of fleet? I'm confident if I can get one game of at least "average" dice rolls I can take out one of the enemy ships, but getting some different ideas to beating no this list would be helpful:)

( anything from tactics, formations and what upgrades on what ships would be helpful )

TRCs. Lots of TRCs.

Have you tried the simple approach with Ackbar with several MC30s of the "come and get me" variety with TRC and Gunnery Teams? Keep them close together, at long range they are barely touchable, and as soon as the Star Destroyers close in you can break formation and welcome them to black die hell.

I have access to exactly 1 mc30c in my area and that is through borrowing, so as much as I would love to try this, I simply don't have enough models to put on the table.

eventually when my order of 2 mc30 arrives, I shall be able to follow your suggestion however

Then you also do not have more TRCs? Bummer!

Then as an alternative, could something be done with two speed 4 flanking Liberties...?

Edit: I hear a lot about people not having MC30s - how do all you guys manage without the greatest and awesomest ship in Armada?

Isn't that one of the commandments???

In our area we allow printed paper copies of the cards as long as you have one of the cards to begin with, so the card isn't that much trouble, and I do so LOVE the MC30 ?? but absolutely non of the stores nearby stock them regularly ?
