[CC] Spynet Token vs Grav Shift Reroute

By Yipe, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

Which occurs first, spending Spynet Tokens or rearranging obstacles with the Grav Shift Reroute?

Spynet reads: "After both players have deployed their fleets..."

Grav Shift Reroute reads: "After deploying fleets..."

I tend to think Spynet tokens must be spent first as the wording could imply its an effect that is still happening in Step 6: Deployment Phase, while Grav Shift Reroute appears to happen only after deployment has been fully completed, but now I'm not 100% sure.

Thoughts?

If both have the same timing first player resolves it first:

RRG: "If both players have effects with the same timing, the first player resolves all of his effects with that timing first."

In my opinion you have to play this in the following order: 1) Place the Grav Shift Reroute Token 2) Deploy fleets 3) Redeploy for Spynet Token 4) Move obstacles.

I think, that redeploying is an act of the deployment itself. "After deploying fleets..." means also after redeployment. (Otherwise the Grav Shift Reroute would be more or less totally wasted.)

Spynet Token : "During a battle, after both sides have deployed their fleets, a player may spend a Spynet token to remove one friendly ship or two friendly squadrons from the play area and redeploy them in any place allowed by the game's objective card (and may do this multiple times by spending multiple tokens)."

Grav Shift Reroute : " Before deploying fleets , place 1 grav shift token anywhere in the play area. After deploying fleets , you may move each obstacle at distance 1-3 of that token to within distance 2 of that obstacle's current location."

CNinja's right, by RAW: after deploying fleets and after both sides have deployed their fleets have simultaneous timing, so first player resolves his effect first. If both belong to the same player, you choose the order of resolution.

That said, it's a CC rules interaction, which isn't the tightest ruleset; but it's also casual environment. So just come to an agreement with your group and stick with it.
