Well when has anything of significance came out yet? Sure Wave 6 bu they can take their time and wait for more of it to be spoiled. Armada news doesn't come as often as X-wing.

they could just talk about games, lists, worlds upcoming, tourneys they've been to, reviews of previous waves... doesn't need to be just new stuff... hoping one comes out soon!

It seems none of them are playing because flotillas killed the game and Armada is Dead®.

I know that this is a joke, but it's also apparently got some truth to it which is sad.

I've rather liked Flotillas in the game, they have directly made me reconsider and reexamine whole aspects of the game. Especially squadrons - I still don't play with squadrons as much as others, but I actually find them useful and enjoyable now in most games.

The are many kinds of D&D. Some good, some not so good. I hope for your sake you're playing a good one

Hey 4e from levels 1-approximately 5 is fine. Its just after that you get bogged down with cards and everything.

Exactly our experience too. Too much fiddly maintenance interfering with gameplay, ... sort of like the squadrons now in armada.

didn't 5 fix alot of that though? I was gonna start picking up the 5e books, but reviews would be handy in my purchase decisions....

Which reminds me that I really need to get an Age of Rebellion campaign going soon.

5th Edition D&D is hands down the best RP system I've played. Streamlined and robust. I felt 4e was an interesting board game with DLC content.

Im playing 5e currently and have played a campaign or two. It's pretty solid, though wizards are still overpowered. Fighters are somewhat more worth it though?

5e is awesome. I'm playing a 5e campaign right now and it's pretty good. I think 5e gets the focus back on role-playing and off of interacting mechanics.

That said, personally, 3.5/PF is still my favorite, because 1) 3.5 is what I learned on and 2) I love the ludicrous wealth of options. The mechanical interactions are actually the stronger draw for me than the RP (yeah, me and my friends are all THAT kind of player). 5e is unquestionably cleaner, more solid, and less broken/breakable.

4e was trash and I hate it.

I'm so glad to see that my D&D and Armada Nerd-dom are not unique.

Also we have found the cream that @WWPDSteven uses for his current itch.

It is hard to get excited about pushing flotillas on the back board edge at speed 1 when my other option is playing 5e with these magnificent damned animals.

I think what I love about 5e is they found a way to please both gamers who love mechanical interactions and gamers who want to make a thematic character. In Pathfinder, if I made something like an Urban Barbarian I felt so outclassed by everything else due to the power creep sliding. In 5e, optimized characters still clearly perform better, but not so much that players that try for less optimized, more thematic players don't feel like they can't contribute. I love it!

You all have sold me. I am going to attempt to DM a 5e game now. Ninja, buy me the books at once!

BTW, we are still playing on 2e for those of you around back in the 80's - 90's , this was Advanced Dungeons and Dragons second edition. It had a Core Rules PC system and everything.

5e really gives me the feel of 2nd and some of 1st. It is by far the best edition yet and I gauge that by the fact that as a DM I dont feel the need to tweak it at all and I have been playing RPGs for 37 years (so old....).

I love how all of the people I am currently playing D&D with are sounding off here

Yes. Playing D&D with Jud, Dano, Easy, @CaptainWeather and the others mentioned above is very much scratching the itch right now.
