Great Folks Here

By macmastermind, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

I've said it before, but I made the mistake of venturing back into the X-Wing forums because I thought I might like to play it again after a year off.

That community has gone down the toilet as far as I've seen - I'm just sick of competitive jerks who stay glued to the computer hour-after-hour for spoilers and updates so they can math the next meta-breaker. Then the best they can offer you if you want to have fun casually is, 'git gud'.

Almost all of you here in this forum are helpful and eager for others to find a way to fun. It is most appreciated.

Sorry for the rant. Had to be done...

PS - And if you have any intentions of coming back at me about the X-Wing rant, just don't. I've heard it all...

Dawwwwwww... :D

I'm sure the X-Wing crowd is cool, the game itself just kind of is inherently more competitive. They don't have the luxury of a campaign mode like us. ;)

But yeah, I've been slowly edging myself into X-Wing (very slowly, don't have the spare cash to jump right in like I did with IA) but I haven't even touched the forums. Seems way over my head, right now. I just want to fly around and shoot things using iconic ships and pilots.

The game is great fun. Having at least one jerk-encounter at every tournament isn't any fun.

It's to be expected from a game as popular as it is. I just miss the old days where I could build a list and run it that night with unexpected results. Everyone runs the meta, so everyone else wins.

Blah! That's not the point.

You guys are awesome...

It's funny I got out of X-Wing because in its early days it wasn't super popular in my area. What little events there were did see a lot of variety with what was available. The fun early days of any game, it seems.

I think this side of the forums is pretty cool and while the game has some solid meta, it still feels like you can play for fun with your favorite characters.
