Tonight two 50's films

By Hexdot, in X-Wing Off-Topic

Robot Monster (1953) and It came from beneath the sea (1955). One of my pals is quite a fan of old B movies and I enjoy this films... Never seen"It came from beneath the sea"...

Film at 11! :)

I like It came from beneath the sea . Not My fave Harryhausen film, but still nice. Robot monster is... weird. They filmed it at Bronson canyon, home of the Batcave!

I like movies that have something to do with bodies of water. i want to sea "It came from beneath the sea".

I'll probably join you...Sort of.

I'm about due to rewatching "faster pussycat kill kill!"

Robot monster is that one where the monster is literally a gorilla suit with a space helmet with 2 rabbit ear antennas. You'd see clips of it on TV a lot. I haven't seen the movie, but with a title that generic and a monster suit so awful, I can't imagine it being good.

If you want a solid B-Movie, watch the MST3K episode on Overdrawn at the Memory Bank. What a ridiculous movie, god ****. And the jokes that are made about it are on point.

If you want a 50's science fiction movie that's genuinely good, instead of being so bad that it's good, you should watch Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

You are talking about a Top 20 film... Scared TO DEATH when I first watched this.

The 1978 version scared the crap out of me. The end... so scary!

Growing up it seemed there were always cool sci-fi, horror, monster movies, and Kung-fu movies on TV. I suppose there's nothing stopping me from finding these movies online, but there's something to be said for just clicking on the TV and watching an old movie without having to think about what you want to watch.

Anybody in the DC area remember Channel 20? That had all the great movies and cartoons.
