The Dusty Nomads IC

By Benjan Meruna, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

The Mudhouse is a fairly typical spacers bar. The music is canned, and so is most of the booze. At this hour there are not a lot of patrons around, but there are a few here and there at the bar or at tables, spacers or less savory types who either are running on a different internal clock than the local time or don't have any qualms about a bit of noonday drinking. There are fairly few humans present, but Melonie doesn't get too many extra looks from the bar's patrons that she can tell.

Vic and his three buddies are already at the counter laughing with a beer in their hands as they get to the busy task of spending your credits. Loud as the bar is and distracted by their beverages and each other, they don't notice Melonie approach.

Vic follows Melonie for a short bit then drops to a side table, near to, but not too close to the Weequay trio, as he's not trying to draw attention.

He tilts his hat to obscure his face and watches.

Melonie takes a deep breath, thinking through her options. She wants them to leave with her, preferably without starting a fight, but she's not entirely confident in her ability to lie. Instead, she falls back on what she is good at, convincing people to like her. She musters up her confidence and approaches the trio. "And here I thought I could drink away my sorrows. I thought you boys weren't thirsty anymore," she tries for a teasing tone, something light, to keep them in a good mood.

His two buddies tense up, but Big Vic himself smiles at Melonie. "Changed my mind, sweetheart. I gotta say, you got some spunk to just walk up to me, after what you pulled. Hope you're not still lookin' for a free drink." His own tone is fair teasing back, and his two buddies exchange an exasperated glance with each other before settling back against the counter to watch Melonie carefully.

"Trust me, it wasn't my idea," she says, leaning against the bar. "I have no intention of spending my life trying to cash in on someone else's reputation. People are gonna ask the Grand Moff if he's related to me." She grins charmingly at him, "You know... I think someone like you could really help me out."

He raises a craggy brow. "Reeeeeeeeally." He unceremoniously shoves one of his buddies out of his stool and graciously gestures for Melonie to sit. "All right toots, have a seat and tell Big Vic all about it."

Melonie starts to slide onto the stool, "Weeeeell... thing is, I've got a big, empty ship right now. Maybe we should talk somewhere... a little more private? You don't want just anyone hearing all your trade secrets, after all, right?"

He chuckles. "Empty? Where'd all your little buddies get off to? You know what, nevermind. Rip, Tear, you two are on ramp watch duty."

Again, his minions look about to protest, but settle down with a glare from Vic. On of them tosses a suspicious glance at Melonie, but all three of them get up and start heading for the front exit.

Melonie leads the way out of the bar and in the direction of the ship, crossing her fingers that the others will figure out what she's up to and let them get to the relative privacy of the docking bay.

What the kriffing frell is she doing?!? ...No... She just... No she didn't... Well holy frell she did!!

He watches the conversation, he sees the annoyance of Vic's friends. He see the flutter of eyelashes, the flirtation of Mel's figure... It all seems to have its desired effect. The big Weequay loosens up, his tough standoffish-ness supplanted by machismo posturing. His cheeks flush, his body language inviting...

Look at the big dumb fool eat her up... Well I'll be a dirty spacer's ****, we gots ourselves a live one! Ain't going out back... Though... Oh no... Haha! That fool thinks... Yea he does, oh shizz!

Vic keeps one eye on her as he quickly navigates the edge of the room till he meets up with the others.

"Your not going to believe this, but she hooked the poor bastard! But I think they are headed out somewhere else... My guess his... or her... Meaning our... quarters... Fool thinks he's gonna get lucky... Heh heh heh!"

Vic's eyes twinkle viciously.

Kara looked down the street towards where Melonie was leading the trio, presumably towards the Dusty Nomad. "If that's what he thinks, it's going to hurt." she said over her shoulder to Vic. Then she turned back towards Vic and Shishi "It makes you wonder how he avoided the Hutt this long with a personality like that."

After a pause she asked them "How do you want to deal with the other two? They might not care anymore, and the Hutt may or may not give any form of reward for them."

After they had gotten some ways away, Kara set out after them using the crowd to hide herself from the vision of the two thugs who might mutually be looking for trouble. Hoping that Vic was right about them heading to the Nomad.

"Eh yah know what, some men are just blinded by a nice set of.... Eyes"

Vic winks.

"Been guilty of it more then once, that's why that kriffing floozy from hell took everything in the divorce"

"Yeah Little Vic, you tell yourself that... haha! Come on let's keep up, we wouldn't want to leave poor Melonie stranded high and dry with three weequay" Shishi gestures to his three Droids with his little leathery hands "come on you three, let's go claim our reward"

Vic keeps a distance while following their marks' meandering stroll back to the Dusty Nomad.

As they get close to "home" Vic takes advantage of a pause to get ahead and motions for the others to follow.

"Alrighty, so here's my idea, we gots two options...so we either leave you Shishi and Kara to deal with the two, I'll hide in the our rust bucket and help Mel knock out the big one... Or else we knock out the two together and storm in but that leaves Mel alone with him inside if things go south... Im assuming Mel will get him inside and he'll tell the others to frag off for a bit..."

Kara stops next to Vic, looking ahead towards Melonie and the three Weequay "I think Shishi and I can handle the two of them. Go get ahead of them and into the nomad, carefully." she told him

After thinking it over for a second she continued "Don't necessarily expect the other two to be in one piece if it comes to shooting, slug throwers don't have stun settings." Kara stopped waiting for Shishi's input on the situation.

"Make sure you let them know that..."

He turns to leave and pauses, looking back at her.

"So wait for us, unless you can't..."

He winks.

"Let's have some fun"

He scuttles up ahead.

"Hey, this ain't no slug thrower!" Shishi grumbles as he draws his hand built Blaster. To most it looks rough, cobbled together from all sorts of odd pieces, wires running along the outside, tape in some places. "Mind you, I did tweak the exciter quite a bit, overcharged the power pack, and haven't quite gotten the duel voltage stun setting working yet... so I guess we are in the same boat after all! Let's go get them"

Vic picks his way back to the Nomad without being spotted by Vic's wary bodyguards, even managing to arrive well ahead of the trio and Melonie.

Kara and Shishi trail not too far behind, keeping out of sight as well as Melonie leads the group further into the makeshift trap.

Big Vic wrinkles his nose as Melonie takes him up the ramp and into the medium freighter. "The hell's that smell?" He sounds like he's fighting the urge to cough.

Vic weaves through bodies and keeping to the shadows allows the crowd to hide his short stature.

He arrives at the ship and quickly enters securing the hatch behind him and hurriedly looking for a hiding place that allows him to quickly suprise his mark... And eagerly waits.

Time to have some fragging fun!

He quietly chuckles...

"The ramp air filter needs to be changed," Melonie says, not bothering to add that they all need to be changed. She tugs his arm lightly, wanting to get him further from the ears of the two at the bottom of the ramp before making a move. "Lemme show you the nicer parts of the ship."

He grins. "Now that sounds like a plan. Alright you two, you know the drill."

Sighing, Rip and Tear take up positions at the top of the ramp facing out, keeping an eye out for anyone approaching the ship.

"You know," Melonie says, releasing Vic's arm and walking backwards into the ship in order to both gain a smidge of distance and keep his attention on her non-ass assets. "Wayfarers have a built-in, secret room. A nice, roomy space, perfect for... some creative customization."

Big Vic grins again. "I'll bet I could help you out with that, get it really tricked out. Why don't you show it to me, babe?"

Rip and Tear roll their eyes almost audibly as their boss walks out of sight and hearing to the 'secret room.'

As they enter the secret room, away from earshot of the others, Melonie draws her pistol, throwing off Vic's arm.

"On second thought, you're not my type. Sorry, Sweetlips."
