Adhesive question, straightening success

By Shrapnelsmile, in Runewars Miniatures Game

Greetings all,

Had fun giving the Rune Golem a bath this a.m.

The approach of boiling water followed by cold water immersion to straighten weapons works perfectly.

On a different note, I'd like to assemble and primer him partially before work. What type of glue works best on this material? Should I try plastic glue (scary thought) or are most of you having better luck with metal adhesive (super glue, zapp a gap, etc.)?

Just go with superglue. I detest plastic glue.
Go with Loctite Gel Control. Best glue I have ever bought. Bonds fast, and I've never seen it break. Fixed a load bearing shelf clip in a bookshelf that I'm looking at right now.

You'll want to use super glue.

I used gorilla glue super glue...

That was my hunch. Thanks everyone.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well this method worked. I was able to take care of a lot of issues easily.

However, I am now seeing some spears bending again. I don't know if I didn't get them hot enough or that I simply missed them, or perhaps they are just eventually going back to their bent shape. Leary of trying again, now that parts of the models are painted.

@Shrapnelsmile hmmm your picture looks familiar lol...putting real names to forum "faces"? is weird...

With this kind of plastic Loctite Gel works really well. It's amazing in general honestly but especially with this material.
