"Permanent" question

By SharkTwain, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Apologies if this has already been asked, but I am curious how Permanent cards interact with "Pushed into the Beyond." The card states:

Quote

Revelation - Choose and shuffle a non-story asset you control into your deck and discard the top 3 cards of your deck. If a copy of that asset is discarded, take 2 horror.

My question is, if I draw this card, can I choose a Permanent Asset, like Charisma, to shuffle into my deck? If I can and do, what happens if it is revealed when I'm discarding the top 3 cards (since the rules reference says Permanent cards can never be discarded)?

I took this "A card with the permanent keyword cannot be discarded by any means", from the rules reference, to mean permanent cards can't be used to pay for costs / be affected by treacheries. I may well be wrong about that - but my understanding was that an investigator couldn't choose to shuffle a permanent card because of Pushed into the Beyond.

Correct, a Permanent card cannot be discarded by any means. That includes discarding it for costs or being blown up by treacheries. But I'll double-check with the Shoggoth in Scene Six for more details.

ETA: ...and, yes, a Permanent card is, indeed, Permanent. So long as your investigator is still in play, your Permanents cannot leave play.
