Well the mat is nice but if it really is only available in 3x3 it would be a little strange and unlike in Star Wars there is nothing other companies can't put on their mats so right now I don't see me buying this mat with all the other mats out there.

Perhaps so you can use a "grassy field" mat with some other mat they put out later to change up the terrain? Who knows, maybe they will release a "mistlands (undead)" mat, forest (elves) mat, or desert (Uthuk) mat in the future.

As for the mats I'm going to have to build something myself in order to convert my coffee table into a larger 6'x3' table. The curses of living in a small city flat.

Is 6x3 such a big deal in the US? You can get 6x3 mats everywhere in germany (and probably the rest of europe...)

Nobody in the US that I've seen have jumped on that size yet.
