I mean, what the **** would people have to whine about then?
Would saving X-Wing Nerf these message boards?
No. there is always something else someone will find troublesome.

I hate to agree, but that has been my experience. But on the bright side, if balance could be brought to X-Wing, think of the fun. All ships on the board, all fighting for top spot.
Me I'm not fond of universal balance, but this is a 100/6 death match kind of depth game so I get it. Me I'd like to see bombers balanced against bombers, and freighters to other freighters. Fighters would be fewer in number but would rule, or at least would rule along side assault fighters and interceptors. But who know, maybe more bricks that can out fly X-Wings is the balance some really looking for.

Yeah, I wish that was the case too. More and more, I agree with the sentiment that X-Wing needs a campaign/more scenarios. Maybe a ship doesn't work well in a deathmatch setting and that would be fine.
There should be an ane to the call for balance and a campaign to bring balance to X-Wing; just not the balance we're used to seeing. Think of the ships and the options for ships if they were good in their class.
Edited by Ken at SunriseI have probably less than ten more "nerf this...Fix that... Save X-Wing...Here's my janked up idea for such and such" type threads left in me.
Tolerance level is almost depleted with that stuff.
It used to be more fun and interesting around here.
It used to be more talk about the game and a lot less " gee wouldn't it better if __________"
Maybe I'm stuck in the past or something, but all that has just sucked away my desire to look at this place anymore.

Yeah a lot of great people are gone now... but I'll be dammed if I let the silly-stuff here mess up MY X-WING.
Hel-Nah...
Nerf threads tell you that the game has people who cares a big deal and are passionate about it.

Yep, most of the time. From time to time you can see quality posts, but for the most part is people venting frustrations on a game they enjoy and like. So let them be.
Not clicking on NERF XXX threads would be helpful. Why do I do it?

Because it's a great opportunity to tell people on the internet that they are wrong
I have honestly not read a single good 'nerf' thread (including this one).
@enigmahfc thank you. With all these nerf this, broken than, fix these posts, I've decided to stop playing this crummy game. Thank you for showing me there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
I heard they are gonna re-remove the Painting and Modification sub-topic and replace it with a "Nerf" sub-topic
That's not a bad idea. Keep the painting stuff of course but this joint sure would benefit from a separate "hypothetical wish upon a star subforum" and a very separate " here's something I invented that almost could play like an x wing card" section.
Great...Now I've fallen prey to the "golly it would be better if _____ existed".
Time to drink and think about how my life ended up this low.

Yeah, don't quit the game because of the weirdos on this forum. Unless you only play with weirdos on this forum, then my condolences.
If the game is ever "fixed"...whatever that is; I fear some passion may be lost. It's the spirited, the unbridled that every man craves and pursues. Sure, catching her causes struggle, joys and sorrows while you have her, but man is ride worth it.
I may be thinking far too much.....
I digress? Or.....
People need to chill. This game does not need to be "fixed" the more content you add to the game the harder it gets to balance but the game is still fun. A game like this will always have an ebb and flow of whats powerful whats not etc. In reality the game needs nothing to still be fun. There are some things that would be nice to see implemented or changed (TIE Punisher, T-65 X-Wing, Palpatine squad point cost etc.) but the game is nowhere near broken as so many claim. I feel a lot of this NERF NERF NERF is coming from the solely competitive players and I understand why, but like I always say, its a game and the point of playing games is to have fun
I like the nerf threads. Not the 46654 about TLT destroyed my life. But if one player thinks that one aspect of the game can be improved, good place to write about this. Better if "from my point of view... In my experience...".

Not necessarily. Some less experienced players call for nerfs because their preferred builds get slaughtered and they don't know how to combat them.

Both things are not mutually exclusive.
If you're the type of person who hates nerf/buff threads, and you happen to see one, I have a solution that is so simple it will blow your mind: DON'T CLICK ON IT. It's really that simple, folks. These threads are pretty easy to spot. Rarely will you stumble into one without knowing what you're getting into. Even if a thread BECOMES a discussion on balance, all you have to do is refrain from posting. Doing nothing is quite literally the easiest path.
If you can't help yourself, then ask yourself these questions: Why does it offend you so grievously that somebody might have a different opinion a balance issue, or enjoy making up some homebrew rules for their favorite game? Why do you feel the need to go rain on somebody else's parade so that you can force your different opinion on them? These people don't want that kind of input. Your presence is not wanted. This is the internet... you're not going to change their mind.
If you're feeling benevolent and want to help an inexperienced player understand that a ship/combo doesn't actually need a nerf or a buff, then read the offending post(s) carefully to determine whether the OP is open to hearing your thoughts. If you think will be open to suggestions, then make your point gently. You will not win them over by dumping on them or telling them to "git gud."
The worst people are the ones who don't even bother to argue their point. They pop in just long enough to vent their impotent nerd rage and try to make somebody feel bad. These people absolutely disgust me and the world would be a better place without them.
If you really feel the need to be a douchenozzle and dump on somebody for no reason, then at least try to grow a pair to and do it to somebody in real life, face-to-face. Try flipping the bird at somebody in traffic, or go harass somebody in the street. You'll do it to the wrong person at some point, and learn an abject lesson in manners and decency while you get what you deserve.
Or, if you want to learn to be a better person the easy way, maybe just make the conscious decision to NOT be a a coward who slings vitriol from behind your protective bubble of anonymity. You and everybody you come into contact with will be much happier for it.

Unfortunately the "X needs nerfed" in the title is a lot like the WET PAINT sign on a park bench. Most people just have to poke it .
